If you have perfected your skill tree and fighting style along with completing the game, it’s not over just yet. This is the first paid DLC to be released for The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing and it isn’t the biggest DLC to be released. The new DLC is available now and will set you back £1.49, this is in no way a super overpriced bit of DLC and you do get a fair amount of extra content for a very small price.
Blue Blood allow you to transform Lady Katarina into a more effective hunter/killer by introducing a new item that opens a new skill tree. Here are the 8 new skills in a nice list for you:
Power of Vengeance, this increases her damage.
Wraith Frenzy, this boosts her attack speed.
Wail of Vengeance, if she is ‘killed’ she will create an AOE damaging everyone around her.
Ethereal Evasion, this increases her chance to dodge attacks.
Armour of Defiance, this increases her resistances.
Spectral Resilience, this will increase her overall health.
Chillwave, this create a chance for her to create an aura on the spot where her last attack landed, this will decrease movement, attack and casting speed of all enemies in the area.
Cure Blast, this works on the same basis of Chillwave but this creates vulnerability to all the enemies in the aura.
This new skill tree really helps broaden Katarina potential as the partner and how you want her to act in the fights and help you gain the advantage and become an even better ‘Monster Hunter’. Katarina isn’t the only one that has been given a few extra skills, Van Helsing also has two new skills. Aura of Counterbalance, this heals Katarina a little every time a rage point is spent. This really helps Katarina to stay in the fights and provide assistance and was a much needed skill to help balance the odds. Ghostly Mirage, this summons two, yes TWO Katarinas who fight exactly like your Lady Katarina. This sounds like it could become too over powered, but with the amount of enemies you can end up fighting at a time can become a lifesaving skill.
On top of these extra skills you also get two new scenarios. So even if you have completed the game you now have some extra scenarios, one in Croakwood and the other was in the Rookery. They have created a new system for rewards when killing monsters as well, the new system allows players to earn glory point for killing monsters. These glory points can be spent on bonuses in several of the areas among the in-game characters you created.
If you have completed the game or just looking for extra skills to increase the mixture or diversity this is a good piece of DLC for a very small price. It adds more options to your companion and also adds some extra content if you have completed the game. For £1.49 this is a piece of DLC worth purchasing.
