Alistair Aitcheson, chair of the Indie Showcase judging panel, commented, “This has been a fantastic year for the Develop Conference Indie Showcase. All ten of the selected games showed an incredible level of technical ability and imagination, and it was a delight to be able to play them at the conference and meet the developers behind them. Choosing a favourite was a tough decision, but one game in particular captured all of the judges’ hearts.
This year’s Indie Showcase Winner is What the Golf? by Triband. It’s a fantastically wacky and unpredictable golf game, bouncing from imaginative twist to imaginative twist at an incredible pace. It is a game overflowing with whimsy and personality, which harnesses games’ power to surprise and create laughter. An absolute delight!
Thank you to the organisers of the Develop Conference for providing a space for these fantastic games. I recommend everyone follow the developers as they work towards release!”
