Last weekend during the Birmingham City F.C. game presented by Ultimo GG, the club announced ‘Battle of the Blues’, the first esports tournament in partnership with Ultimo GG. A platform focusing on tournaments, streaming and video sharing, Ultimo GG is a fully self-sustainable economy and ecosystem that rewards gamers and content creators for everything they do and with a fair chance to earn ULTGG. Registration for the tournament began this past weekend, and the tournament is set to conclude on Oct. 31 at St. Andrews Stadium, around the launch of the Ultimo GG Series.
“We are excited about continuing to grow our partnership with Birmingham City F.C. with this one-of-a-kind ‘Battle of the Blues’ tournament around the newest edition of FIFA,” said Ultimo GG COO, Ben Husted. “This is a great opportunity for us to engage with a diverse group of fans, and we look forward to a highly competitive, memorable and fun esports event.”
‘Battle of the Blues’ is a first event in the recently launched two-year partnership between EFL Championship football club Birmingham City F.C. and Ultimo GG. The single-elimination tournament welcomes players of various skillsets the opportunity to compete on a level-playing field in FIFA22 on PS4 (PS5 players can enter using the PS4 version on their PlayStation 5), all for a £1750 cash prize. The partnership also includes several other esports initiatives such as an esports team, esports platform, in-game events.

This event is a one of a kind and look forward to seeing how it plays out.”
This tournament is in addition to the Ultimo GG Series which will be launching soon, in two rounds running from November to April, with signups live throughout in October.
