However, by using the term gamer so freely, we actually neglect the fact that categorising gamers so simply, is so far from the truth as there are many gamers out there who have their own quirks and personality that defines their gaming. Therefore, we thought it would be highly appropriate to go into more detail about the different gamers that there are, and hopefully you should be able to find a category that fits you better than your standard ‘gamer’ labelling.

Now before reading onto the categories that we have listed here for you, you will probably think to yourself how you do not actually fit in with the tight labelling of one gamer to another. Hard-core Gamers
Where do we begin with hard-core gamers? Well, first and foremost, this gamer is the most elite and ultimate gamer of them all. If you are a hard-core gamer, you will want to dominate each and every game you play. Soon as you purchase your next game, you unload all the tasks and challenges you are presented with and take advantage of all the games features and goodies that can elevate your status. In fact, you will purchase the guides, you will research the secrets that are not sought by casual gamers. You have one goal, and that is to solve the entire game, as fast as humanly possible. You may find that you’re up gaming until the early hours of the morning because you have put it into your head that you have a task at hand that needs to be finished, whatever the costs. Mobile Gamers
Mobile gamers are essentially a different breed of gaming altogether. Firstly, you have your mobile everywhere you go. That means you can actually have an excuse for not actually calling your gaming quits, as you are not tied to any console or PC within your home. Sure, this kind of gamer gets very much tied up to the hard-core gamers out there, yet the only differentiation here is that not all the hard-core games that we so often desire from PC, such as Call of Duty, GTA etc. are found on mobile. So, you could call mobile gamers a level down from a hard-core gamer really.
There are games that have made it to mobile, such as the Fortnite game, which has managed to conjure many eSport gamers to make a living. So here, we can say that if you have managed to go to the side of making a living from your gaming, you there my friend is borderline (if not already) a hard-core gamer too! The Observer Gamer
The observer gamer is one who actually likes to watch other people’s games. It can be live streams, where you just silently watch all the fun, or you can be of the many who actually watch gamers live on Twitch and YouTube for example. Usually, the explanation for observer gamers is that you very much prefer to see the success, rather than be the one going through the struggle. It is far easier to watch some pretty high up their gamers achieve all their gaming passions than struggle for hours on end, unable to hit the game with the same talent. Do not worry, it is totally fine, as many today are observers, so you are just a part of a community now!
The Online Gamer
Online gamers are those who can play Overwatch for example, for many hours on end. You will take pride in your gaming, and most definitely have an acquired set of skills that you entertain, every time you game online. Online gamers can be categorised as hard-core gamers too, so that will be up to you to make the choice and decision of where you stand on the forefront of the selections.
One thing we will say is, many online gamers love the fact that you can play alongside other gamers, be it friendly or competitive, and you visually can see and interact with them while online. Being they have such a magnificent set up to play within the first place, they are very much ready for any way that their gaming could go down. When you play from your comfy armchair, you have no reason to leave, as you are pretty much in complete control. You do not even have to use that ‘my back hurts’ excuse, as the chair is a professional chair made for lengthened gameplay such as the ones you are used to.
Armchair gamers can always be described as hard-core too, however, they do bring in some sophistication to their gaming, being that they are willing to buy all the chair and desk candy that comes with gaming. That is certainly dedication right there! If you are an Armchair Gamer, you will come to realise that it is always about the grand strategy that will get you in the mood of gaming. There is something about being in complete control that really, really makes things far more enjoyable when you game. May it’s the dominance and complete ownership of your gaming?
