Hong Kong-based IoT startup Ambi Labs is returning to InnoVEX 2019 – the startup platform of COMPUTEX focusing on AI and IoT applications – touting its multi-award-winning product, Ambi Climate 2nd Edition.
Ambi Climate applies AI technology to revolutionize the way air conditioners are used – by analysing user feedback alongside multiple factors other than temperature to deliver personalized comfort and create an optimal home environment with up to 30% energy savings.
Ambi Climate’s first InnoVEX appearance was in 2017, the same year it was honoured for its innovation and design by winning the COMPUTEX d&I Awards. Ambi Labs CEO Julian Lee said since then, the cutting-edge device has been further recognised by many more international awards.
“Our success includes being an Honoree in the Smart Home Category for the CES 2019 Innovation Awards, earning a special mention for Excellent Product Design – Energy at the German Design Award 2019, being a featured finalist of the International Design Excellence Awards 2018, and receiving the Top of Excellence Award at the 2018 SMAhome Awards,” he said.
“We’ve also expanded to new markets and our product is now available online and through key retailers, including Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, the United States and other European and UAE countries. This year, we’ve demonstrated our commitment to continuous improvement by releasing new features that contribute to a truly smart home experience. They include official voice integrations with Siri. We’re also soon to launch Multi-user Comfort, an incredibly intelligent feature that automatically balances the comfort of all users in the room.”
New since InnoVEX 2018 – Ambi Climte’s newly added and pipeline features enhance AC control and comfort for every household.
Multi-user Comfort
By smartly balancing the comfort preferences of multiple users, this coming-soon feature delivers added comfort, improved convenience and further enhanced energy savings.
Voice Technology
Ambi Climate recently added Siri Shortcuts to its growing list of voice integrations, enabling users to voice control their air conditioners through Apple iOS’s voice assistant, Siri. The new voice integration officially ensured Ambi Climate’s compatibility with the three leading voice assistants on the market, including Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant – an ideal position considering the rapidly gaining momentum of voice technology through smart speakers and other platforms such as smartphones, and with Asia Pacific currently being the most engaged region when it comes to smart home assistants (52% of internet users in 2018).
Other Smart Features
Multi-user Geolocation automatically controls air conditioning based on the user’s location – switching it on or off if a user enters or leaves a pre-set radius. Ambi Climate also offers an extensive IFTTT integration and an open API. Combined, these features allow users to create better home automation and enjoy a truly smart home experience.
