2019 was a relatively silent year for gaming compared to the two years before, but 2020 is shaping up to be a huge one once again. Of course, there were the occasional releases such as Devil May Cry 5 or Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice to keep us interested in 2019 as well, but 2020 is going to see a whole new level in gaming evolution altogether. Read on as we discuss what to expect and even a few tips on how to be more financially prepared for updating your gaming gear and buying the actual games.
Xbox Series X
There has been a lot of controversies already regarding how close to the PC Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox Series X looks, but that’s not necessarily bad news though. If rumours are to be believed, the Xbox series X will have multiple editions in varying prices, and the higher-end models may even rival top-end PCs, but at a much more competitive price. Xbox Series X is due to be released in late 2020, and it could indeed blur the lines between PC gaming and console gaming once and for all.
PlayStation 5
The biggest flaw of the Xbox consoles had always been the fact that they lack exclusives, and the few that they do get are seldom any good! That, however, has exactly been the prime selling point for the PlayStation, as the console has a number of exclusives which are not just good games, but some of the best games ever released on any platform!
With a similar timeframe for release as Microsoft’s Xbox, Sony has confirmed that the PlayStation 5 is coming in late 2020 with jaw-dropping next-gen graphics.
PC
Whether you believe in PC supremacy or not, there is no denying the fact that no console has yet managed to grind as much graphical prowess out of video games as the top-end gaming rigs have. The magic of the PC lies in its unlimited ability to upgrade itself with newer and more powerful hardware every year. If you have a PC that is in need of upgrading, here are some of the highlights to watch out for.
- AMD is about to release its next-generation of high-end Navi RDNA GPUs in 2020
- Nvidia has confirmed a June 2020 release date for its 7nm Ampere RTX 3080 series
- Intel has already started releasing their Comet lake 10th Gen processors
Managing the Wallet: Can You Afford It?
In case you are temporarily short and can’t take advantage of awesome deals on your favourite games and gaming gear, consider taking out a short-term loan. Be careful about the lenders though, because loans from some of them like Satsuma or Sunny Loans can get pretty expensive. Try a satsuma loan alternative such as LoanPig and you will get a much more flexible and competitive interest rate, not to mention their upper limit for payday loans is much higher than Satsuma. You can always try your luck with some Bingo I know I do when I am out and about or searching the web for the best bingo sites to play on, some even offer free play with real money rewards, just don’t go spending all your money.
It seems that bleeding-edge games, the next-gen consoles, next-gen PC hardware and more are all going to be pumped into the market in 2020, which is exciting, but scary at the same time, because they are certainly not going to be cheap! Take note of the following tips to manage your expenses intelligently:
- Choose any one console/PC to upgrade and commit to it
- Don’t buy games or consoles the moment they come outspend your money intelligently
- Wait for the sales!
As long as you keep these pointers in mind, 2020 is going to be a happy year for gamers all around.
