November 2021 has been a month rife with extraordinary gaming news. So much so, that we decided to dedicate an entire article talking about the subject.
There have been some truly crazy things happening this month. From news about a top online casino entering the mainstream to Rockstar coming under fire for a botched launch, it is definitely an exciting time to be a gamer.
In this article, we will be giving you an overview of everything that has happened within the realm of gaming in November 2021, as well as going over some of the biggest news in gaming to date.
Elden Ring Is Blowing Up
Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few months then you more than likely already know about the Elden Ring and all the hype surrounding the launch.
As things stand now, Elden Ring is looking to be one of the most highly-anticipated game launches of all time, and people all over the world cannot wait to get their hands on this exciting new release from FromSoftware.
The debates as to whether or not hype surrounding a game is a good or bad thing is still ongoing, and as we can all remember from the Cyberpunk 2077 fiasco, hype can oftentimes be detrimental.
Although, there is a major difference between Elden Ring and Cyberpunk, and there has already been a live beta in which the game was tested rigorously by thousands of people all over the world.
Moreover, take a look at any Elden Ring review and you will quickly see that the lucky people who managed to get their hands on it are willing to give praise in troves, and up to now, almost all feedback from the test has been overwhelmingly positive.
The whole ordeal surrounding Elden Ring is something that is going to be remembered in gaming history forever, and only time will tell if the team at FromSoftware will be able to deliver a game that is worthy of its reputation.
A New Genre Is Entering The Fold
A recent development in the gaming industry that has been to the surprise of many people is the resurgence of the online casino.
Even though the origins of gaming began with traditional casino/arcade games, we have yet to see it go back to its roots and return to this style of gaming.
Although, throughout the past month, this has been beginning to change.
Online casinos have seemingly blown up within the past month, with thousands of new players opting to join in on the experience.
However, this isn’t something that just sprang up randomly. In reality, online casinos have been garnering much more popularity within the last few years, and it just so happens that November 2021 was the month where people began to notice.
This can be seen in way more ways than one, and even the mainstream gaming industry is beginning to see a shift to the more traditional retro format with games like Hades becoming a cultural phenomenon.
This style of gaming is something that people just can’t seem to get enough of at the minute, and online casinos give perhaps the best/easiest way of getting access to that classic gaming experience we all know and love.
Rockstar Made A Big Mistake
Not only did the recent Rockstar controversy make headlines all throughout the gaming industry, but it also happened to make its way into mainstream media because of how big of a deal it was.
If you have yet to hear the news; recently, Rockstar released the “definitive” version of several beloved games for the newest console generation.
However, as is the trend with modern game releases now, all of the aforementioned games were wholly unfinished, so much so, that most people cited that their former versions were much more polished in comparison.
There are endless videos of game-breaking glitches and bugs in what is supposed to be the upgraded version of some of Rockstars most popular games ever, and paired with all of the other botched releases that happened this year, this was just the final straw that made gamers put their foot down.
Rockstar has even apologised about the current state of the GTA trilogy and has openly admitted as to what a big failure the whole ordeal was – something which is extremely unheard of in the gaming industry as the usual tactic is to just ignore any criticism completely.
This whole situation just left gamers with a sour taste in their mouths, as it just goes to show how little respect and care Rockstar put into the whole project, and never before has there been a gaming scandal to garner this much attention from mainstream media.
This month has been filled to the brim with exciting gaming news, and even though some of it may not be the best developments (we’re looking at you Rockstar), there’s no denying that it has been a spectacle to watch.
Hopefully, now that even Rockstar has come under scrutiny for producing under-polished games we will begin to see a shift in the industry, and we may be able to put this dark era behind us.
Moreover, with all the hype surrounding Elden Ring, this may be the perfect storm to make developers realise that making better games is not only the moral thing to do, but also the most profitable.
We can’t wait to see what next month has in store for us.
