Bethesda is teaming up with the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds to bring fans a one-of-a-kind experience: “Welcome to the Dark Ages”, a free public exhibition running from 9 to 16 May, inspired by the upcoming DOOM The Dark Ages.
This exclusive event dives headfirst into the blood-soaked fantasy universe crafted by id Software, merging authentic medieval inspiration with DOOM’s signature chaos. At its heart is the Slayeux Tapestry—an 11-metre hand-crafted artwork that reimagines the game’s intense battles in the style of the legendary Bayeux Tapestry. Created by renowned French illustrator Simon De Thuillières, this piece translates the frenetic fury of the DOOM Slayer into medieval artistry.
Visitors can expect more than just a tapestry—”Welcome to the Dark Ages” includes displays of the game’s brutal weaponry alongside real historic arms and armour from the museum’s world-famous collection. This immersive blend of old-world warfare and futuristic violence perfectly encapsulates the unique tone of DOOM The Dark Ages.
As a special opening highlight, Reacher star and professional strongman Olivier Richters, aka The Dutch Giant, will appear in full DOOM Slayer armour to unleash the exhibition on the world.
