Thanks to Star Wars Battlefront, doling out the Dark Arts of the Force now includes wielding an ungodly double-bladed lightsaber. The deadly blade, wielded by Maul in the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace by George Lucas, is available in Battlefront.
Playing with Darth Maul’s lightsaber is one of the purest pleasures in Battlefront and definitely a bonus as you learn the Dark Arts of the Force.

Who Is Darth Maul?
Darth Maul was a Sith Lord portrayed by actor and martial artist Ray Park in the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. As one of two Sith apprentices to Darth Sidious (the other being Count Dooku), he carried out his Master’s orders with zeal and tenacity.
Though he was defeated soon after his most famous battle, he’s remained a fan favorite ever since and doesn’t show any signs of losing popularity.
Darth Maul’s Double-Bladed Lightsaber

Darth Maul, defeated by an enemy on a jungle planet, decided to make something nobody else had thought of. Using advanced Sith schematics, he made two completely identical lightsabers. Once they had been crafted, he welded them together to form the double lightsaber (or staff saber) we know and love.
The saber would later become infamous in pop culture history as it plays a major role in an iconic scene during which he kills Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and is then bisected at the waist by Obi Kenobi.
Over time, many fans even longed to own the Darth Maul Lightsaber, and it’s become increasingly popular at cons.
However, this double-bladed lightsaber was not a standard Sith design at all. In fact, very few would never have been allowed to wield such a weapon as it had a pair of blades that increased the user’s potential for fatal errors and invited being disarmed by their opponent. Later, Darth Sidious would praise Maul for his inventiveness.
How Do I Get Darth Maul in Battlefront?
There’s great news for Darth Maul fans – he’s already unlocked as soon as you start the game. All you have to do is select him, and you can have your double-saber fun.
Darth Maul’s Attacks
Maul is a threat to almost anyone, and it’s not just his saber that makes him a problem. He’s a master of the Force and makes good use of all his skills. Just the sight of his Sith Infiltrator has struck fear into the hearts of many on the battlefield.
Spin Attack
Darth Maul spins along with his lightsaber, mowing down enemies as he leaps around. This attack is particularly useful in a tightly knit group of people.
Choke Hold
Darth Maul grabs on and chokes a couple of enemies that are in close range. When he’s done, he throws them to the ground, causing further damage.
Furious Throw
Maul throws his lightsaber in a straight trajectory. Every enemy the deadly lightsaber touches is dealt damage. This attack is great for clumps of enemies.
