COVID has completely changed the face of the world as many knew it. It has no doubt changed gaming. In fact, it has only boosted the popularity, which is always a good thing for the industry. With more and more people finding themselves in lockdown, they are turning to gaming as a means of escape. Really, what better way?

Whether you want to travel to an entirely different plant and meet new and exciting creatures or hit the gridiron and lead your own football team to an undefeated season, you’ll have the option of doing so with gaming. The only problem is, gaming is expensive, and you likely won’t have the funds to play all the ones you want. Especially not with all the amazing releases coming up. Below, are the ones you’ll want to prioritize.
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout
This one was released just a little over a month ago, and it’s already established itself in the gaming industry. Being one of the most streamed games since its release, this game offers players all kinds of entertainment options. Whether you want to get involved or just sit back and watch others struggle, you’ll have the option with this game and today’s streaming technology. That aside, this is one of the more popular games available today because it is part of that ever-growing battle royale game style. However, it does offer an entirely different take on the genre, which makes it interesting in its own right.
And, that different take is, there are no guns involved like there are in traditional battle royales Instead, this game offers more of an obstacle course gameplay, as you’ll race against other competitors through jumps, loops, slides, and all kinds of other unique obstacles. On another note, this is one of those games that was released as part of the PS Plus gaming additions for the month of August.
Fast And Furious: Crossroads
Fans that were immensely disappointed due to the push back of the new Fast and Furious movie release can get their thrills and fills with this exciting release. Since the new addition won’t be available until 2021, you’ll have plenty of time to explore everything that this edition of the franchise has to offer. This game, like the movie, did experience a setback and fans have already thrown off on its graphics, but you can’t overlook the fact that it was created by Slightly Mad Studio. Horizon Zero Dawn PC Port
Just last month, Death Stranding made its way to the PC platform. Another PlayStation exclusive that will soon be following will be Horizon Zero Dawn. If you thought it looked good on PS, you haven’t seen anything yet. That being said, there has never been a better time for a re-release than now, and especially for a game like this, given that it is about a girl living with the horrors of a post-apocalyptic world. Although the circumstances are completely different, it does truly remind one just how fragile life can be and why you should live each day to the fullest. And, the fullest it venturing into a world filled with crazed robotic dinosaurs.
Hyper Scape
If you are a hardcore gamer, you’ve likely already been taking advantage of Ubisoft’s beta release of Hyper Scape. Well, on August 11th, you’ll have the opportunity to take advantage of the entire battle royale on either PC or console. While this is another traditional battle royale game, it does offer super-fast gameplay that is much different than what fans of the genre are used to. The beta received mixed reviews, but it’s certainly worth picking up a copy and trying it out for yourself.
