Crunchyroll Games is announcing the co-publishing of “Grand Summoners,” a top-grossing RPG in Japan, in partnership with Good Smile Company and NextNinja. “Grand Summoners” is a real-time RPG with rich gameplay, strategic co-op battles, and adventurous anime storylines.
To kickstart the partnership, “Grand Summoners” will be launching an epic crossover event featuring fan favourite characters from the popular anime series “Goblin Slayer.” This event, which will run from June 6 – July 31, will feature three exclusive playable characters from the series with crossover-themed equipment to use during in-game battles and boss raids. This in-game event also marks the first-ever appearance of characters from “Goblin Slayer” within a mobile game. Playable characters include Goblin Slayer, High Elf Archer, and Priestess.
“Through Crunchyroll Games, we provide our community with an impactful way to connect to each other and the content they love,” said Brady McCollum, head of global operations and international, Crunchyroll. “We’re proud to welcome ‘Grand Summoners’ into the Crunchyroll Games family and we can’t wait for ‘Goblin Slayer’ fans to see what NextNinja, Good Smile Company and our team has in store for them with this latest collaboration.”
“Grand Summoners” has previously featured popular anime series for in-game collaborations such as “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime,” “Golden Kamuy,” and “KILL la KILL.”
“Crunchyroll has been an essential partner of GoodSmile Company and NextNinja in creating a worldwide audience for ‘Grand Summoners’ since early 2018,” said Masayuki Yamagishi, producer of “Grand Summoners.”
“Crunchyroll has a unique, deep understanding and respect for Japanese anime and games. Their commitment to understanding the joys and challenges of ‘Grand Summoners’ often far exceeds our expectations—and is the foundation for our partnership. GoodSmile Company and NextNinja are extremely excited to put ‘Grand Summoners’ into the hands of Crunchyroll-fans all over the world!”
The “Goblin Slayer” anime follows a group of heroes in the same guild who hunt down goblins to build their rank. The series was one of the top Crunchyroll simulcast titles in Autumn 2018.
Crunchyroll Games launched its first two titles, “DanMachi: MEMORIA FREESE” and “Bungo Stray Dogs: Tales of the Lost” in 2018. Crunchyroll Games is also the marketing partner for “Attack on Titan: TACTICS,” which will launch before the end of the year. All games are based on anime series currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
“Grand Summoners” is currently available for download on iOS and Android.
