German videogame publisher and developer Deck13 today announced that puzzle platformer Shift Happens received two prestigious awards at this week’s 2016 German Videogame Awards (Deutscher Computerspielpreis). The quirky co-op game, by German indie developer Klonk Games, was awarded with “Best Kids Game” as well as “Best Game Design” at the award ceremony in Munich, Germany.
Jan Klose (Managing Director, Deck 13): “Congratulations to the entire Shift Happens development team! We are very excited about our future collaborations with such a talented group of people.”
Robin Kocaurek (Co-founder, Klonk Games): „We are incredibly honored and proud to have our game recognized on such a scale and cannot wait for fans to finally get their hands on the final game this summer.”
Shift Happens is a puzzle platformer focusing on cooperation and with great couch compatibility. At its core the game revolves around the “Shift” and the two protagonists “Bismo” and “Plom”. Bound together by accident, they can shift their masses between each other. If one of them shifts, they both change their sizes: the big gets small and the small one gets big! This core mechanic allows for challenging puzzles and funny interaction between the players. Shift Happens is currently available on STEAM Early Access and will see a full release in summer 2016.
