Some people might say that it’s a rebirth, but other’s just see it as a return to old glory. Minecraft and Terraria are coming back in full swing as the pixel heavy titles that rely on their gameplay more than anything, and it’s clear that these games are always there to innovate the industry when people are so centred around graphics and other kinds of nonsense that don’t concern most people. Sure, some people like great graphics, but most people are just not that impressed with graphics any longer. These days it’s all about the gameplay, and this is what these games bring to the table. So, what made these games popular again? Let’s analyze it and see what the main causes of this resurgence are.
- Meme culture
It’s easy to see why memes have influenced the rise of popularity of these titles, especially Minecraft. This game has had so many memes created about it that it’s become one of those cult classics. After the game sort of died down after a few years of its initial release, it was the meme community which brought new life into the game and gave it a breath of fresh air in which it relished and created the state that the game is in today.
This second wind was largely supported by the meme community throughout the period of the game regaining popularity in gaming circles. It’s also important to realize that these people who were peddling for more popularity of these games are adults in this case, and these are grown men who also enjoy a fair bit of Adult Porn Games among other things!
- Content creators
Some of the biggest names in the content creator sphere have started releasing new content on both Minecraft and Terraria. Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, and even Pewdiepie came in with brand new series for Minecraft and Terraria. What’s most interesting is the collaboration that these content creator channels had when they were creating these new Let’s Play series.
It’s also interesting to realize that even Pewdiepie’s channel got completely centred around Minecraft gameplay, and his other shows and series took a step back to give the spotlight to this new and exciting phenomenon of Minecraft gaming videos. Recently Pewdiepie also came out with a brand-new series which focuses around Terraria which has given a boost in popularity to this title as well. When you read about this you just have to wonder what would happen if these creators started playing the Best Sex Games as well.
- Younger player base
It’s no secret that these games have a much younger player base now than they did a few years ago. New players are emerging and they’re looking for fun and interactive games that they can play without getting mad and destroying their monitor. It turns out that games such as Minecraft and Terraria are the perfect games for this younger audience since both the kids enjoy them but the parents also think that these games are a lot better for children than some other titles such as Call of Duty, League of Legends or something similar. These games, meaning Minecraft and Terraria, are way less competitive and they’re focused more around adventure, exploration, creativity, and building. It’s every parent’s dream game for their child.
These younger players are also the ones who have managed to boost the ratings of all these channels. It’s true that Pewdiepie probably wouldn’t be making this kind of content if he saw his numbers sink after he started making Minecraft videos. What ended up happening is that he started making more money and this was one of the main reasons why he continued his Minecraft and more recently started a Terraria Let’s Play series on his YouTube channel.
At the end of the day, you can say what you want about these games, but it’s no secret that they’re retaking the gaming scene by storm and that is largely due to the fact that these factors have such a huge influence on the world of gaming that they need to be talked about more. Just imagine such support coming to XXX Games and you already know that we would have a much messier situation with people getting into adult gaming more and more. It would be absolutely inevitable if there was such a push to get that kind of gaming into the spotlight, though we’d have to exclude younger players.
