Video games are one of the most exciting ways many of us spend our time, both for entertainment purposes and to build our skills. Avid gamers have always been on top of things when it comes to knowing which games are due to be released every year, but for some of us, we have no idea. Three of the most popular platforms to play on include the latest PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S now out and the Switch which is also still going strong and with them there are always releasing new and better games and gaming experiences. There are loads of new games coming out, but which ones do we think you should know about?
Metroid Dead or Metroid 5
The platform which has many fans waiting for its release is Switch. This action-adventure has some new twists and adventures for its players. New arenas with sliding floors and various new enemy attack options have been added to this new version which is coming out this year.
It has only taken two decades for the company to come out with a new version, suffice to say fans are looking forward to it again. Much like many, this too can be pre-ordered now. It is available on the Nintendo console with the iconic Samas Aran being the main action hero once again. Releasing in October of this year, there is a Special Edition that you can get that features a steel game casing and some of the best artwork for each of the 2D Metroid titles.
Horizon Forbidden West
A serious showcase of the power of the previous PlayStation, 4, was the Horizon Zero Dawn game, which was a compelling and highly adventurous game that had no match on Xbox, now the new one Horizon Forbidden West is set to do the same, if not better. Featuring a brand-new landscape with robotic beasts geared to stand out from the crowd.
From the graphics to the mechanics, everything is an intricate integration of a storyline based on the mythology of an ancient civilization reclaimed by nature and is now in ruins and buried underground. Playing from the character ‘Aloy’s’ point of view, you will find yourself on a quest to find a mysterious clan and save your tribe from a mysterious clan. Far Cry 6
Yes! Far Cry is coming out with its 6th version too! This game is available on pretty much any platform you can think of, from PlayStation 4, 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and of course PC.
If you have ever watched the popular series Breaking Bad, you would know one of the most compelling characters ‘Giancarlo Esposito’, and he is included in this game as an authoritarian leader (of course!). Based on a fictional island in the Caribbean, you will play a freedom fighter who attempts to take him down amidst the unpredictable scenarios you will face along the way.
Besides the above games, there are also other games to look forward to such as Halo Infinite, Battlefield 2042, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and Back 4 Blood, to name a few. What an exciting 4th Quarter we are set to have.
