The Expanse A Telltale Series Episode 5 Review

And here we are with the final Episode of The Expanse A Telltale Series, and what a final and explosive episode we have been given.

We left off the last episode with Drummer boarding the Artemis with the aim of retaking the ship alongside Toussaints right-hand man. You’re flung immediately into the action when you cross paths with Rayen. You are then met with your first (of many) choice to either kill him or spare him and fight back. I chose to fight back which led to Toussaints number two calling for backup and blowing my cover.

You then take Dayen to the medical bay to get fixed up. It’s here you find out some more shocking information about Virgil’s past and you can make another choice here. The choice I went with led to a really nice sequence that highlights how to help someone experiencing a panic attack. Having experienced a few of these in my past it was nice for a video game to shed light on a very common but overlooked issue in people’s everyday lives.

This episode is a culmination of every choice you have made throughout your playthrough of all 5 episodes. Every choice, even down to small conversations you had with key characters really impacts the outcome of this episode.

Depending on how you play, either most of your crew dies or you can choose to save them all. It’s really down to the choices you have picked and also how you feel towards those characters.

Now let’s talk about the ending. Without giving too much away, the ending to this series is both entertaining to play/watch, but also satisfying. If you’ve played this game like I have been, waiting every two weeks for a new episode, then the ending is definitely worth you having invested your time and patience. But even to future players who will play this once all episodes are out, it will be satisfying for you also see all your choices combine into a great final to an amazing series, but also a lovely setup and bridge into season 1 of the Expanse.

Overall The Expanse A Telltale Series Episode 5 Europa’s Folly was a great experience and a fulfilling final to what has been a truly outstanding series.
