For the fourth year in succession, renowned UK development studio Creative Assembly will present the Creative Assembly GameJam as part of EGX Rezzed, on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th April.

Established in 1987, Creative Assembly is one of the UK’s most influential games development studios and, as active supporters of game development talent, the studio is proud to support the GameJam.

Creative Assembly’s Studio Director, Tim Heaton, said “We are honoured to be supporting the GameJam once again. Creative Assembly is focussed on providing great opportunities to engage with game developers and ensure that nurturing the talent of tomorrow is a priority.

Over the last four years, the GameJam has enabled developers to work together to create some outstanding results and I have no doubt that this year will generate yet more exciting projects and highlight some of the top talent on the UK development scene.”

The GameJam will be presented as part of the GamesIndustry.biz Career Fair, which brings educators, employers and recruiters together to inspire the next generation of budding games industry professionals – whether they be students, graduates or those already in employment – towards a highly rewarding career in the games industry.

“We’re delighted to see the Creative Assembly GameJam return to EGX Rezzed for the fourth consecutive year” said Matt Styles, EGX Rezzed Event Director. “Over the years it has demonstrated that anything is possible in game development, providing inspiration to both participants and attendees”.

One previous success story is Tango Fiesta, a PC/Mac game which evolved following early development during the Creative Assembly GameJam at EGX Rezzed 2013, going on to secure publishing support and then being released as a full game during EGX 2015, garnering both critical and commercial success.

Following a day of development on Friday 8th April, all teams will present their finished games to a panel of prestigious games industry judges during a Developer Session at the GamesIndustry.biz Career Fair on Saturday 9th April. This session will also be live streamed via the EGX YouTube channel.

The winning team will collect some fantastic prizes, the details of which will be announced closer to the time.

The Creative Assembly GameJam is intended for individuals and teams (aged over 18 years of age and with some knowledge of creating games) who wish to create a game in a day and have it reviewed by a panel of respected games industry professionals. Teams should consist of five members and any successful individual applicants will be placed within a team by the event organisers ahead of the GameJam.

If you would like to enter as an individual or team of up to five, please register your application here.

EGX Rezzed 2016 takes place at London’s Tobacco Dock on the 7th to 9th April. This year’s event is expected to be the biggest in its history with over 160 playable games on the show floor, a packed schedule of presentations and panel sessions from some of the biggest names in game development and the opportunity for attendees to get hands-on with cutting edge VR technology.
