Developer conference has devcom opened its doors for the second time to an international audience.
Cory Barlog, from Sony Santa Monica, made a brilliant start with the opening keynote about the development of God of War, which will be followed by many more talks from high caliber speakers. The varied program offers talks on topics as diverse as “Twitch: How Streaming is Changing how we play“, to “Simulating World War 2 on your GPU“ and will come to a close tomorrow with the final keynote from Jason Vandenberghe.
But it’s not just the large studios which will be in the spotlight at devcom – Indie developers will also get their money’s worth. Indie developers will gain access to the Indie Press Pitch and the devcom Indie Awards, including the integrated NRW Indie-Area which offers independent developers networking possibilities. The NRW Indie-Area was created in collaboration with the state of North Rhine Westphalia and its state secretary Nathanael Liminski. Entry is free for developers from NRW.
The networking opportunities aren’t limited to the Indie Area. On Monday the Women in Games event offers female members of the gaming industry the chance to exchange experiences, starting from 3:00 PM. Between 4:00 and 6:30 PM devcom HR presents a framework for companies and potential employees to meet spontaneously.
The Saturday program concludes this evening at 9:00 PM with the developer Night Get Together for all conference participants.
