The UK Final of Red Bull Player One, a global 1v1 League of Legends tournament will take place at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London from October 5-6. The best amateur duelist crowned the Red Bull Player One UK Champion will win an all-expenses paid trip to Brazil to compete in the Global Final in November, as well as the once in a lifetime opportunity to train alongside a leading professional League of Legends team at their bootcamp to prepare for the world stage. The exhilarating UK Final will be broadcast live and feature commentary from one of the most beloved figures in League of Legends Eefje “Sjokz” Depoortere. Alongside the highly anticipated UK final, Red Bull are also pleased to reveal the exciting qualifiers and events scheduled ahead of the main event.
Road to Player One, beginning on August 31 is a bi-weekly tournament taking place at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in the lead up to the Final with a high-stakes leaderboard which will see the top two players auto qualify for the final day of Red Bull Player One UK on October 5. The second in the series, ‘Road to Player One: Up your Game’ will take place on September 14 and see pro League of Legends players sharing their expertise in a workshop. The UK final will also see two university campus offline qualifiers around the country, with dates and venues to be revealed soon, as well as three online qualifiers taking place on the 18, 22 and 27 of September which players can sign up for now. The winners of each qualifier will get an all-expenses paid trip to compete in the final day of the Player One finals at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere and the runners up in each qualifier will also be invited to compete in the final.
The Red Bull Player One UK last chance qualifier takes place one night before the main event on October 5. The qualifier will feature open signups, meaning skilled duellists across the country have the opportunity to take part. World renowned League of Legends commentator Eefje “Sjokz” Depoortere has partnered with Red Bull Player One and will be providing her expert commentary throughout the finals broadcast. 16 players will make it through to the UK Grand Final, before being narrowed down to the top eight who will face off to be crowned UK Champion. Red Bull Player One is a truly global tournament with over 25 countries holding regional events across the globe. The thrilling 1v1 format means that as opposed to traditional 5V5 League of Legends esports, there’s no team to come to the player’s rescue in these head-to-head showdowns. Only one player will take the trophy home from the world finals in São Paulo, Brazil from November 30 – December 1.
