When it comes to a gaming chair, we normally think of a chair, with a straight back, is extremely comfortable, comes with Neck and Lumbar cushions, the seat can be raised and lowered along with armrests that can also be raised and lowered as well. So why do we have a different form of gaming chair, that can not be raised or lowered, comes with an armrest that again can not be raised or lowered? Can be very comfortable, allows you to slouch, has built-in speakers along with other features. Well I thought I would take a look at one, and for this review, we are taking a look at the
BRAZEN PANTHER ELITE 2.1 BLUETOOTH SURROUND SOUND GAMING CHAIR – IN RED

I already own a number of gaming chairs, from AKRacing, Arozzi and E-Win, and I must say they shine quality but they also come at a premium price point, however, none of them offer these types of chairs, they only do professional racing style gaming chairs, along with gaming desks, floors mats and other products.
So why did I want to review a gaming chair like this? well, I don’t always sit at my PC and play games, a professional racing style gaming chair is perfect for that, but for console gaming, you need something different. You could slouch on a bed sofa if you are lucky to have one, slouch on the living room sofa if you are allowed to play games downstairs, but why not slouch in style. So I went online and found the BRAZEN PANTHER ELITE, I also found they did professional racing style gaming chairs so I ordered one of those as well, but another writer will be checking that out for us.
So everything arrives in a massive box that weighs an absolute tonne, even the delivery driver had issues taking it off the van, and I had issues taking it upstairs. Almost everything is wrapped up with what can only be described at space-age insulation, something you would see wrapped around a satellite, of coarse its is not actually that sort of product, just looks like it. You also get an A4 piece of paper with all the instructions on it, I doubt you will need it, as everything is self-explanatory, this goes here that goes there.
Inside the box, you get a number of items, the metal base which has a nice matt black finish, which is damn heavy and of good quality. The Gas Lift Piston and the Piston Seat Connector, which allows the base to connect to the seat. There is no way to highen to chair with the gas piston like the professional racing style gaming chairs, so you are stuck at one level. However, you really do not want to give the chair any more height, it is perfect as it is.
The Armrests are made with a Matt Black Finished plastic with PU leather for added comfort for when you are resting your arms, they easily fir to the side of the chair. The quality and design are exceptional right down to the stitching, and with the caps that hide the screws produce a great finish. Once the arms are attached, you will notice that they can be flipped up and away when not in use, or when you simply don’t want them around. I do not see any reason why you would not want them down, maybe because you are in a confined space and need to get off the chair from one of the sides, maybe. I would have liked an option to heighten the armrests, just to give more flexibility on where I place my arms when resting or playing.
Now comes the primary component, the place you are going to place your rear end on, slouch back and play games, watch movies/tv or listen to music. The quality for this is outstanding, how much did I pay for this again £179.99, damn this is a bargain so far.
The materials used is PU leather for some of the front, back and all of the sides, what is PU leather? well PU leather is an artificial leather material made with split leather which has been coated with polyurethane. The second material used is a form of mesh material, this has been placed in the centre of the chair to add to the design style and comfort. All of the materials are BS5852 which is the British Standard for fire tests for furniture, meaning your safe, this also includes the foam padding.
The Brazen branding can be found in a few places all prominent positions, these include, on the back of the chair, bottom of the chair and a B around where you will be wresting your head. All the stitching on the seat is perfect, no threads are popping out and the final design really stands out. Not forgetting you can rock the socks off this chair thanks to the adjustable tension mechanism which sits under the chair.
Now we have the speakers, yes speakers on a chair, not only that a subwoofer and vibration. Now you are NOT going to get High-Quality speakers for the price you paid already as you can easily spend the same amount for a good set of speakers, so let us not go there. The Speakers are good enough, they are not amazing, the subwoofer on the other hand rumbles and brings the bass into any room. Getting Surround Sound from a 2.1 set up is questionable, with headphones you can create a Surround Sound atmosphere due to the fact that everything is being created in limited sound space. The only way to create a Surround Sound sphere with speakers is to have 5 + 1 speakers, 2 speakers in front, 2 speakers behind and a subwoofer.
You can use Windows Sonic or Dolby Atmos for headphones to give you a sense of sound positioning, but it is nowhere as perfect as a dedicated speaker set up or a pair of headphones. Though the sound set up does surround you with sound, which I believe is what Brazen was trying to sell us, and not true surround sound.
Now for something that will shake that booty, the vibration. It is is an odd feature but a goodie, it is like having a personal massage on your butt cheeks and it feels good, would I say it is a requirement for the chair, nope, but its a nifty, fun feature.
All the features from Bass, Volume and how much of a vibration you want is controlled through a panel on the righthand side of the seat, this also includes the power input, analogue audio input and the power on/ off button. There is also a Bluetooth connection, which works, but with mine I had issues, the sound would cut out every few seconds when connected up to my PC, but worked ok when connected up to my phone for music, so I connected the seat up through the analogue audio input and everything worked just fine.
So the final points, weight is always something that must be taken into consideration when it comes to buying a gaming chair and with this chair, the maximum weight it can hold is 120KG which is around 18 stone. The chair is suitable for 6 years and above, however, take note this is an adult-sized gaming chair, not a kid-sized gaming chair.
So final thoughts, apart from the Bluetooth connection issues, the questionable surround sound, even though it does surround you in sound, but it is in no way a true surround sound experience, this gaming chair is quality. The materials used to the design are all outstanding, the logo placements to the amazing subwoofer and vibration all perfect. I rather like the chair and I know I will sort out the Bluetooth issue from my PC in time if it is possible, otherwise, I shall just keep it wired.
