Gameplay
Stellaris depends upon the distant future. It is designed for real-time gameplay, which is set in space. While playing this game, players will be interacting with a lot of new stuff. They can get most of the knowledge for the upcoming future. As it is a grand strategy game, any player can create their empire by playing this game. You need a sharp mind to devise a strategy in this game.
Theme of Stellaris
The theme of this great game is exploring and conquering. The player should be ready to claim the thorn of an unknown destination, “Species of the Stars.” As a player, you are going to be the ruler of this area. You will be playing as a government for that species. That government is from the early stage of interstellar space exploration, after which the space travel technology invented the FTL (Faster Than Light). This gameplay depends upon several factors; each civilization has its specific ethics and customs that represent the species of that civilization.
The base of the civilization depends upon the player’s desires. The empire can even conquer the galactic conquest which is very hard to beat. You must have technological supremacy with which the empire keeps on conquering the other empires and hoard ancestors’ resources. The empire must provide a peaceful environment. Otherwise, your kingdom would be pretty weak for the enemies to sneak in and start a revolt.
The player must have a control ship to travel with a basic knowledge of science. As a player, your ship’s construction will be your responsibility. Your ship must have a military vessel to defend itself. In combat, it must cover ground and space combat separately to protect the area. The combat must focus on the high force with sharp minds and rigid bodies. You need to prepare yourself for competing with a more substantial empire and devise a tactical strategy to defeat enemies.
The gameplay also has other options like diplomacy to trade with other empires and their races and building a close relationship to start trading.
The Early Gameplay
In the beginning, this game is started by picking the player’s customized empire or species or by picking any of the empires created in advance. A player can also make his empire by his choice and taste. The main and first choice of building an empire involves creating a mixture of negative characters (also known as Traits) and positive characters, which are beneficial for the empire.
The second choice is to increase the administrative cap. Your empire must have its specific civics and ethics. It will be the ideology of your empire. Players can also set an origin for their empire which will represent the backstory of its empire. The origin of the player’s empire must be from nuclear warfare or the secondary playable race having strong but stupid workers.
Other than Gestalt Consciousness, all ethics have some visionary and fanatic versions. These versions will represent different dimensions of your empire. These fanatic versions have higher restrictions than normal ones. However, they get two points on each ethic while the regular versions get one point from each ethic. Fanatic versions also offer bonuses.
While in the case of ethics called Gestalt Consciousness, this ethic takes up all the points by making the empire a hive of a robotic empire. It gives all the new civics to the robotic empire. The player can customize his empire in any way. He can customize the flag of the empire. The player can also change the name of the empire, and he can change the location of the cities and their appearances. He can also change the ruler of the empire. Thus, the empire can be customized in the way the player wants.
In the early game, the empire of many new players consists of a single planet with no population, a starbase, a science ship, few research stations and mining stations, and a construction ship. During this time, the playing criteria to explore new areas and colonizing these areas with space swaths. However, mid-game activities are slightly different. Mid-game activities engage the players with enemies and create a battling moment between them. They may battle against themselves or start diplomacy with other empires and run their business with each other’s help.
Five Main Resources of Any Empire
There are five main resources on which the economy of the player’s empire is based. These are minerals, consumer goods, food, alloys, and energy credits. Each of these resources has the primary purpose of contributing to the economy of the empire.
