Developer Twice Circled’s latest concoction – a pharmaceutical simulation called Big Pharma – hits open beta today.
The world is a dangerous place – an uncontrollable petri dish ripe with disease – but luckily we have corporations like yours to keep humanity healthy.
Your humble medical beginnings will see you starting out with just a modest factory and the means to create simple painkillers. In time however your research will allow you to make revolutionary medical advances, giving you the cash to build hi-tech machines and manufacture a wealth of potent pills and serums.
As your empire grows, so will your ability to cure the world’s most degenerative, crippling diseases. However unlike your sugar-coated pills, the truth is bitter: illness is good for business.
Of course, you won’t be the only one trying to profit from that fact. Rival corporations are trying to sell competing products and remember to keep a close eye on the ever-changing marketplace where cures suited for one season may not be so profitable during the next.
So the question is, strategic tycoon or magnanimous healer – which role fits your business plan better?
The open-beta is available to purchase direct from the official website. A purchase entitles the customer to all future updates and, of course, a copy of the final game when it’s released on Steam later this year.
A schedule of planned additions during the beta period can be found here.
Big Pharma is published by veteran developer Positech Games, the creator of Democracy 3 and Gratuitous Space Battles 2.
