Independent developer 4gency, in partnership with Versus Evil, a leading independent video game publisher, today announced that their massive end of year feature update to its upcoming space survival strategy game Habitat, has gone live in Early Access.
Gamers asked, 4gency listened! As well as further bug fixes, Habitat v0.5 now contains a significant number of game changing features based on player feedback as part of STEAM Early Access including:
Introduction of Mission and Marketplace Central – there are now three unique cities in earth’s orbit where players can get new items and weapons unique to each individual city. In addition to this players can complete all new missions in exchange for rewards.
Citizens – this update brings a new gaming dynamic – the introduction of citizens. Initially citizens will be on hand to trade for engineers or Command Nodes. Remember, no citizens means no engineers, which means no habitats, so make sure you look after these guys as their numbers are limited.
The energy control panel – depending on their play style, players now have to manage their habitats by choosing how they distribute their energy. Will you choose to make your weapons more powerful, will you increase your boosters to give you more speed or will you focus on your resources to give their production a helping hand? The choice is now yours.
Even more space junk – well it wouldn’t be an update without it. 4Gency have now included a Tree House (!!), solar panels, a rocket arm, weak, medium and strong armour and an all powerful rail gun to name but a few new items.
Other updates include a new combat log system (if it has happened in the game, it’s in the log), improvements to the turret combat system (allowing you to move the turret in real time) and personalisation of habitats, citizens and engineers.
