If you were a Pokemon fanatic during your childhood, like me, you probably already have an excellent collection of cards at your house. I mean, if you want, you can still find and buy the rare pokémon cards for sale. But, do you really want that, still now?
Playing a physical card game isn’t competitive enough anymore, right?
Even if you had it in you, you won’t find anyone else to show off your collection with. What’s the point of investing so much, then? Just for the sake of collection? Well, while that’s a great shout, if you want to play Pokemon with someone, you have to turn to an online platform.
And, in that case, Pokemon TCG Online will be an excellent option for you.
Pokemon TCG Online – What is It, Really?
As the name implies, it’s a simple and straightforward trading card game that can both let you collect Pokemon cards and play against others. Once you’ve completed the tutorial, you’ll get a decent deck from the game. Then, you can complete missions and buy card sets to acquire a card or two accordingly. The rules are pretty simple too –
- You won’t be able to have more than 60 cards in your deck.
- You can only keep four copies of the same card (other than the energy cards).
- Any type of card can be used to play against others.
But, if you want to be competitive, you must ensure that you’re covering each element that is available in the game – water, fire, nature, and electric. All of them have their own weakness and strength. So, try to consider everything before making a deck.
How to Build a Deck?
Following a balanced notion is important while creating a deck on Pokemon TCG. Here are a few rules that you can follow in this regard.
1: Choose One Main Attacker
If you are not creating an aggressive deck, make sure to add only one main attacker in it. This card should be quick to set up and must have the ability to deal a massive amount of damage.
An Inteleon VMAX is an excellent example of a main attacker.
To begin with, it has a whooping 320 maximum HP and features two different attack abilities. The first one will only require a single energy to 60 damage, while the latter needs two water and one normal energy. And it will take only two turns to set up the card.
2: Supporting Cards Should Focus on Support
You can keep more than one supportive card in your deck. But you must ensure that they have an excellent synergy with the Pokemon cards you want to play with.
For instance, if you’re creating an evolution-focused deck, keeping Evolution Incense will be perfect for you. With it, you will get the ability to search your deck, reveal the evolution card you have, and put it into your hand. Shuffling the deck doesn’t seem like a punishment either.
3: Secondary Attackers Should Hide the Main Attacker’s Weaknesses
If you are thinking about keeping a secondary attacker or two in your deck, you must ensure that it’s supporting your main attacker. And your deck should have around one to three copies of a secondary attacker. Keeping more than that might be a waste for you.
The Final Say!
Creating a deck in Pokemon TCG online can be strategically difficult and tricky. Therefore, it is best if you check a tutorial or two before making a decision.
