Koruldia is an indie RPG that brushes off the dust of classic role-playing games with a touch of impressionism we call Pixel Impasto. Available for PC and tentatively consoles in 2016.
A long pixel journey
Koruldia is the indie game we (Irie and myself) wanted to create for a very long time, and now with the right tools and experience the project is finally coming to life. This indie j-RPG comes with its own unique style – a highly stylized pixel-painting art technique we named Pixel Impasto as it gives an impressionist finish to old school graphics
This off-line adventure RPG is being developed for PC and tentatively XBox One and Playstation 4. We get our inspiration from classical role-playing games such as Final Fantasy VI to IX, recent gems like Radiant Historia and even non-RPGs (Castlevania games on Nintendo DS and LoS1/2). In Koruldia, the players create their own path through a rich and mature narrative structure that we spice up using a variation of in-game camera angles – from the classic top view (Final Fantasy I to VI) to the pre-rendered 3D perspectives (Final Fantasy VII to IX). We also use dynamic lightings and work every background detail to ensure a successful immersion in the game.
A glimpse of the story
“In times of deep changes on the meaning of being human, the story is about our legacy in a world now dominated by transhumanism. You will follow Juna in her identity quest and master the art of catching and fighting Korumon, bio-engineered creatures created with higher skills for tactical battles.”
