It’s a pleasure for the organisers of NG18, 23-25 May in Malmö, Sweden, to reveal the complete program for this year’s conference. More than 165 speakers are lined up to make the audience think, learn, laugh, share, and evolve, with prominent names such as Siobhan Reddy (Media Molecule, Dreams), Robin Hunicke (Funemena, Journey), Johnny Monserrat (Turbine founder), and Angie Smets (Guerilla Games, Horizon Zero Dawn) (https://nordicgame.com/terrific-trio-completes-ng18-program/) ready to enter the main stage of the Slagthuset venue. We also have a wealth of business talks, mobile focused content, and a brand new string of “Impact” sessions lined up for the conference. Check out all the speakers here, as well as the program schedule here.
One of the major focus points of this year’s show will be the Nordic Game Discovery Contest Finals, where the last 3 of the 16 selected game studios have just been selected. To triumph during the Final on 25 May at 14:00, the winner will have to first fight through the semi-finals and will also be showing their qualifier-winning games in the NGDC Finalist Showcase, where the NG18 audience can play all the games, meet with the best development talent from across Europe and vote for their favorites.
NG18 will once again feature loads of social events and parties, as well as the return of the Discovery Day and Showcase on Friday, 25 May. This year we are also introducing the Yonderplay program – a special day-long session dedicated to experimental and artistic games, created in cooperation with long-time partners Copenhagen Game Collective.
Of course, we continue to proudly celebrate the sheer quality and variety of games developed in the Nordic countries, and this year’s Nordic Game Awards on 24 May once again reflects the imagination and vitality of developers from the region we call home. And to round things off, don’t forget the MeetToMatch meeting system, where the hope is to break last year’s record of 2790 business meeting held over the three conference days.
NG18 couldn’t be done without the strong support of sponsors and partners. Please take a look here https://conf.nordicgame.com/sponsors/ and here https://conf.nordicgame.com/partners/ and here https://conf.nordicgame.com/ngdc-sponsors-partners/.
