Ever felt like your eyes had ants crawling on them? Drying out after 12hour sessions of LoL, WoW or hard-core spreadsheets? Then you my friend suffer from what is known as Eye Strain which is caused from staring at your screen for too chuffing long. All hope is not lost though, with computer glasses that can all be changed!
That’s how an advertisement would sell it to you.
NOScope Orion Computer Glasses are a new set of Glasses for use at a computer with varying styles currently on offer, the normal everyday glasses style or an aviator style for the fans of Aviator glasses. Aside from gaming glasses, this Computer one is just meant for everyday use of your computer, mainly for night-time assignment work or browsing to lessen the strain on your eyes from the sunlight-like screen.
This is for the Aviator style version
The overall look of the glasses can seem unappealing at first, seemingly a knockoff of the Aviator style of glasses and simply not meeting standards. Those feelings are dispersed after some time with them, however, as you come to live with them, with their huge lenses and minimal frames, covering almost all of your vision with the yellow tinted lenses. The temples are thin and light which means wearing them for long isn’t a pain and fit comfortably on your ears.
The aviator style only suits a rare amount of people, however, especially older gentlemen, which could narrow the possible market for this brand of glasses. The look isn’t “hip” or “with it” for a younger generation, but they are more for practicality than stylishness.
Being around £12.50, you can’t expect much from these lovelies, they are more for practicality than quality or style, but you do get some bang for your buck. The frames are thin and lightweight, the lenses are big and the bridge is comfortable. However, being so thin the glasses are extremely fragile, dropping them once could mean you say bye-bye to your aviator computer glasses. The glasses as a whole aren’t very long either, barely reaching around my ear as I put them on and hanging on by the edge of my ear.
When buying this pair of glasses you get a case and cleaning cloth so all-in-all, the entire purchase is worth it for the little amount you have to pay to relieve your eye strain, though it is hard to tell if it is any better than programs you could download off the internet and use as an alternative.
Overall, I would give NOScope Orion Computer Glasses a 2/5, it does the job and are the smallest type of comfortable but it doesn’t have much else going for it. The style isn’t appealing and it is so flimsy the screws and main part makes a slight noise when being moved making you paranoid when handling them. I would recommend this for people who just want an easy fix to their eye strain, but if you’re willing to spend £10 more you can get some great quality glasses.
