Gaijin Entertainment has announced the launch of New Horizon, the latest season for its post-apocalyptic online action game Crossout.
The new season sees the Engineers, Steppenwolfs and Scavengers forced to put aside their differences and work together against Aris and the Ravagers. Alongside the new storyline, players can unlock new vehicle parts and weapons, experiment with fresh combat builds and take part in several unusual PvP brawls.
Take to the Battlefield With the MVP Flagship
One of the more unusual additions in New Horizon is the MVP Flagship air cushion, a sizeable vehicle part designed to carry armoured cars across the battlefield at speeds of up to 70 km/h.
The part also comes with a perk that increases cabin power when enemies are nearby, making it particularly suited to aggressive builds that favour getting into the thick of the fighting rather than staying at a distance.
New Weapons Expand the Arsenal
The latest season introduces several new weapons and equipment options for survivors to experiment with.
The Smasher cannon fires enormous naval cannonballs, with its projectiles gaining additional damage and impulse during the first 125 metres of their flight. Players able to line up longer-range shots can therefore get more out of the weapon before the projectile reaches its target.
Also joining the arsenal is the ATGM Cornet launcher. Its missiles can be guided using a laser designator, giving players greater control over their attacks. The guidance can also be released early, causing the missile to split into four explosive fragments and providing an alternative method of attacking groups of enemies.
The new equipment doesn’t stop there. The MPR-8 “Slice” radar can periodically detect concealed and invisible opponents, while the heavy Wildhog cabin features bonuses that change depending on whether nearby allies or enemies outnumber each other.
New PvP Brawls Put Teamwork to the Test
New Horizon also introduces a series of special PvP brawls designed to change how players approach combat.
The “No Signal” mode removes player names and minimap icons while enabling friendly fire. With those usual indicators gone, the colour of each armoured vehicle becomes the main way of identifying allies, meaning players will need to think before firing.
The new “Blind Fire” brawl takes the concept even further by making every participant invisible. Firing a weapon, activating a module, taking damage or colliding with another object temporarily reveals a vehicle.
Players can still track hidden opponents by paying attention to environmental clues, including sounds and dust clouds. At certain points during a match, all vehicles are temporarily revealed, turning a tense hunt into a much more chaotic firefight.
New Horizon Battle Pass
The New Horizon season and its Battle Pass will remain available until November 25, giving players time to work through the seasonal content and unlock its rewards.
The Deluxe Battle Pass has also been expanded, providing instant access to recipes for upgraded seasonal parts, additional Bearings and other bonuses.
With its new vehicle components, weapons, equipment and PvP modes, New Horizon gives Crossout players plenty of new options for experimenting with their builds and approaching combat.
