Razer has announced the Hammerhead V3 Chroma, a new pair of wired USB-C gaming earbuds designed to deliver low-latency audio, active noise cancellation and the company’s signature Chroma RGB lighting.
Aimed at mobile gamers, handheld players and PC users, the Hammerhead V3 Chroma combines a wired connection with features usually associated with more premium wireless gaming headsets. Razer is also putting plenty of thought into comfort and convenience, including an angled USB-C connector designed specifically for gaming in landscape orientation.
Active Noise Cancellation and Dual Drivers
At the heart of the Hammerhead V3 Chroma is Feed-Forward Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), designed to reduce surrounding distractions whether you’re gaming at home or travelling on a busy commute.
Audio is handled by a custom dual-driver arrangement, pairing an 11mm dynamic driver for deeper bass with a dedicated 6mm tweeter for clearer high frequencies. The combination is intended to deliver punchy audio while retaining detail across games, music and films.
PC users can also enable THX Surround Sound 7.1 through Razer Synapse, providing positional audio designed to help identify where sounds are coming from during competitive matches.
There are four dedicated audio presets for Gaming, Music, Movies and Calls, alongside the option to create a custom EQ profile. This gives users a way to adjust the sound depending on what they’re playing or listening to.
A 90-Degree USB-C Connector Designed for Handheld Gaming
One of the more practical features is the low-profile 90-degree USB-C connector. Traditional wired earbuds can protrude awkwardly from the side of a phone or handheld when held horizontally, potentially interfering with your grip.
Razer’s angled connector is designed to sit closer to compatible devices, improving comfort during longer gaming sessions while reducing strain on the cable.
The earbuds also feature an IPX4 water-resistance rating, offering protection against sweat, rain and accidental splashes. That should make them a more practical option for everyday travel as well as gaming.
In-Line Controls and Chroma RGB
The Hammerhead V3 Chroma includes an integrated in-line controller, allowing users to adjust volume, manage media playback and toggle ANC without having to leave their game.
There’s also a built-in omnidirectional microphone for voice chat and everyday calls, helping players stay connected with teammates.
Naturally, Razer hasn’t forgotten its RGB fans. Both earbuds feature Razer Chroma RGB lighting, with 16.8 million colours and a selection of lighting effects. Users can customise the appearance to match their setup or coordinate with other compatible Razer devices.
Wired Gaming Without Wireless Compromises
Razer is positioning the Hammerhead V3 Chroma as an alternative to wireless earbuds for players who want to avoid battery limitations, wireless audio compression and connection latency.
Its USB-C digital connection provides a plug-and-play experience across compatible mobile devices, gaming handhelds and PCs. With ANC, THX Surround Sound on PC, customisable EQ and Chroma RGB, there’s a fairly extensive feature set packed into a compact wired design.
The Razer Hammerhead V3 Chroma is designed for players who want immersive audio whether they’re competing on a handheld, gaming at their desk or listening while travelling.
