New online anime convention starts May 30th

Crunchyroll is proud to be one of the official partners of a new free online anime event called Cloud Matsuri brought to you by AllTheAnime on May 30th & 31st 2020.

Cloud Matsuri will also feature interviews with some of the leading names in the anime industry. It will be broadcast through a free live stream that you watch at CloudMatsuri.com with the stream itself powered by the AllTheAnime YouTube channel.

On Saturday and Sunday the broadcast will begin at 2PM GMT / 9AM EST / 6AM PST and run until 10PM GMT / 5PM EST / 2PM PST, with a variety of guests and panels scheduled throughout each day.

The complete schedule will be updated and published at CloudMatsuri.com nearer to the event but some special guests are already confirmed:

Eunyoung Choi
CEO & Co-Founder, Science SARU

The producer of Crunchyroll’s Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, Eunyoung Choi makes her first public appearance since becoming the CEO of Science SARU. She’ll discuss her career, the industry and Science SARU’s impressive body of work.

Eiji Inomoto
President & Founder, Studio Orange

Studio Orange are specialists in CG animation. President and founder Eiji Inomoto discusses the history of the studio and some of their titles including Land of the Lustrous and the recent global smash-hit series Beastars.

Shuzo Shiota
President, Polygon Pictures

President and founder Shuzo Shiota, talks about the history of Polygon Pictures including its involvement in CG anime (such as Knights of Sidonia and AJIN: Demi-Human) and major global western properties.

Yasuhiro Kamimura CEO, GroundWorks Co., Ltd

Mr. Kamimura set up GroundWorks Co., Ltd and became the CEO, managing character licensing of Evangelion and other works. In 2020, he was appointed as the CEO of Gainax Co., Ltd. holding the two posts concurrently.

He’ll be talking about his career to date, including managing a massive megabrand like Evangelion.
