If you’ve ever watched a speedrun, or for that matter attempted one yourself, you’ll know just how skilled and dedicated the top players are in order to play at such a high standard for such a long period of time. Some runners have to concentrate for over an hour straight to try and get a new PB, let alone a WR, and that’s after having to reset a whole bunch of times at the beginning of scuffed runs. With that in mind, have you ever wondered which speedruns are simply the best of the best in their category?
Thanks to research conducted by Ebuyer, we have a list of the fastest speedruns ever in the most ran games of all time:

Taking the number one spot, with the best time out of 28,426 runs submitted, is an American player with a time of 1:37:53 in the 120 star category in Super Mario 64. To put this into context this time is almost a whole 30 seconds faster than the previous WR by a Japanese player, which had stood for over 6 months! With new stats being discovered quite recently in SM64, we may still get a few new WRs pretty soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
In at second place is another Mario title, Super Mario Odyssey. With a time of 57:21, an Italian player has recently taken the crown for fastest run ever out of the 18,460 runs submitted after the previous run had stood for seven months. In third comes a run by a German player with a time of 26:23, which is the fastest ever run out of all 13,780 runs submitted!
