ESL UK will provide event support for the OMEN by HP Bootcamp, a joint venture between ESL UK and OMEN by HP taking place 17-18 February at PC Gamer Weekender. Sessions will be streamed from the event by ESL UK, live from 10:00 GMT on Twitch until 18:00.
The OMEN by HP Bootcamp will include exclusive Overwatch masterclasses, run by top esports talent from the UK including Valkia, OverwatchCentral’s Ryan Horton, and members of the UK’s Overwatch World Cup Team. The finalists of the show’s special Overwatch Competition will also join the stars on Sunday for a once-in-a-lifetime coaching session, before battling it out in a 3v3 Final hosted by Frankie, Valkia, and RyanCentral. The event is an activation of OMEN by HP’s global sponsorship of the Overwatch League.
As OMEN by HP’s event partner, ESL UK has supported on-site production from booth design and tournament setup, to selecting the professional talent. The stars designed their own masterclass sessions with support from ESL experts, providing attendees with the most useful tips and advice for becoming the best Overwatch player they can be.
ESL UK also helped organise the event’s Overwatch Competition qualifier in January, where two teams of three players were selected from more than 90 eager esports fans.
“The OMEN by HP Bootcamp is the perfect event for the UK’s Overwatch community,” commented James Dean, UK managing director at ESL. “We’ve got some of the country’s top talent at the show, inspiring fans and aspiring esports stars alike to raise their game. It’s a great example of how we can build grassroots esports participation in the UK, so we’re really excited to help make OMEN by HP’s vision a reality.”
“ESL, as the world leader in esports, were the obvious partner of choice to support us with our vision to bring to life our OMEN Overwatch Bootcamp at PC Gamer Weekender,” commented Yvonne Hobden, UK&I Consumer Marketing Lead, Personal Systems, HP. “They’ve helped us to create an event supporting the grass roots esports Overwatch gaming community, leveraging our Global sponsorship of the Overwatch League in a way people at the event can experience along with those at home through Twitch. Together we are aiding people to Dominate their gameplay at every level.”
