Genshin Impact 2.4 Release Date
Genshin Impact version 2.4 was released on January 5th, 2022.
miHoYo recently announced a commitment to releasing new content for the game every six weeks. The beginning of the first cycle coincided with the launch of patch 2.4 and will run from January 5, 2022, to February 15, 2022. Each six-week cycle is divided into two phases.

Brand New Area: Enkanomiya
This new underground zone is accessed from the east end of Sangonomiya Shrine. This is the criteria to unlock Enkanomiya:
- Adventure Rank of at least 30
- Archon Quest “Chapter II :Act III – Omnipresence Over Mortals” completed
- World Quest “The Still Water’s Flow” completed
- World Quest “The Moon-Bathed Deep” completed
Events Coming in Genshin Impact 2.4
Hangout Events for Ningguang & Yun Jin (from January 5, 2022)
Rewards: 120 Primogems, 1200 EXP, 30 Hero’s Wit, Ascension Material
Two new hangout events were introduced with the 2.4 patch — one for Ningguang (The Jade Chamber’s Returning Guest) and the other for Yun Jin (A Song that Knows Grace). These hangout events are permanent, so players with an Adventure Rank of at least 30 can access them at any time.
With Sleet and Storm (from January 5, 2022)
Rewards: Dragonheir’s False Fin, Cryo level-up materials
“The crownless kings of Enkanomiya await the challenge of a true hero. Defeat the Rimebiter Bathysmal Vishap and the Bolteater Bathysmal Vishap to prove your valor.”
This simple event challenge takes place in the new map, Enkanomiya. You must defeat a Bathysmal Vishap herd (a new monster type introduced with the 2.4 patch) composed of one Rimebitter Bathysmal Vishap and one Bolteater Bathysmal Vishap.
A Study in Potions (January 7–17, 2022)
Rewards: Hero’s Wit, Mystic Enhancement ore, Weapon Ascension Material, Primogems
“The Mondstadt alchemist Timaeus is attempting to create a legendary alchemical medication. Help him complete this line of research, and you may obtain some rich rewards…”
This event involves helping the alchemist Timaeus with his research on alchemical medication. Players must undergo a 3-day trial to complete the event and claim its rewards.
Windtrace (January 13–27, 2022)
Rewards: Peek a Boo name tag, Talent Level Up Materials, Mora, 420 Primogems
This is a re-run of the Windtrace hide and seek mini-game event that was first introduced with the 1.5 version patch. Participants are split into two teams: Hunters and Rebels. Hunters are the seekers, and Rebels are the hiders.
This mode supports Co-op gameplay.
May Fortune Find You (from January 25 to February 9, 2022)
Rewards: Hero’s Wit, Mystic Enhancement Ore, Mora, Intertwined Fate
This login event will last two weeks. You can obtain 10 Intertwined Fate if you log in 7 days in a row.
Fleeting Colors in Flight (from January 25 to February 12, 2022)
Rewards: Primogems, free 4-star Liyue character of your choice (includes Yun Jin), Crown, new recipe, Ascension Material, Mora, Serenitea Pot blueprints
In the last week of January, we’ll be getting the Fleeting Colors in Flight event, which is a re-run of the Lantern Rite event introduced early last year with the 1.3 version patch.
This year’s version of the event is looking to be just as big a spectacle as the last. The event will be broken up into five sections:
- Flumeplume Starflowers – Fireworks mini-game
- Wondrous Shadows – Lantern Rite mini-game
- The Great Gathering – Treasure hunt mini-game
- Oceanic Defender – boss fight
- The Stars Inscribe the Year Wishes – complete missions to earn event currency
Other Miscellaneous Changes & Updates
Aside from the major content introduced with this update, which we’ve covered above, miHoYo has also made tons of smaller content and quality-of-life changes to the game. There are too many tweaks and additions to go into detail here, but in this section, we’ll touch on some of the more notable ones.
New Enemies
miHoYo has added some new enemies to Genshin Impact to populate the game’s new map. The most significant are the three Bathsymal Vishap types, which are part of the With Sleet and Storm event.
Customizable Shortcut Wheel
At Adventure Rank 20, you can customize your shortcut wheel from the Controls section in the game’s Settings menu.
New Skins For Keqing & Ningguang
Players can now obtain the Orchid’s Evening Gown for Ningguang and Opulent Splendor for Keqing.
