SteelSeries has unveiled the Aeon Pro Controller, a new premium controller designed for PC and Xbox gamers looking for high-end performance, extensive customisation and a more convenient way to keep their controller powered.
The Aeon Pro is built around what SteelSeries describes as a new generation of luxury controllers for players who game across multiple platforms. Its headline feature is the QuickSwitch Dock System, which SteelSeries says is the world’s first system of its kind for PC and Xbox. The technology is currently patent pending.
QuickSwitch Dock and Infinite Power
One of the biggest features of the Aeon Pro is its Infinite Power System. The controller uses two hot-swappable batteries, allowing one battery to be replaced while the other keeps the controller ready for use.
The batteries can be stored and charged through the controller’s dock, giving players a way to keep a charged battery available without having to stop playing for extended periods.
The controller also features the QuickSwitch Dock System, designed to make moving between the controller and its dock quick and straightforward while keeping the Aeon Pro ready for its next gaming session.
Hall Effect Thumbsticks and Mechanical Controls
For precision, the Aeon Pro features Hall Effect Thumbsticks, designed to provide drift-free control by using magnetic sensing technology rather than traditional contact-based components.
SteelSeries has also fitted the controller with mechanical switches throughout, providing tactile and responsive inputs across its controls.
The triggers are designed for high-performance play, while the controller’s Contoured Back Buttons can be remapped to provide quick access to important in-game functions on both PC and Xbox.
Customisable Modular Thumbsticks
The Aeon Pro also includes a Modular Stick System, allowing players to change the thumbsticks depending on their preferred play style.
Three different thumbstick options are included:
- Standard concave
- Tall concave
- Short convex
The interchangeable sticks can also be stored directly in the controller’s dock, helping keep the unused options close at hand.
OLED Screen Puts Profiles at Your Fingertips
Another notable addition is the controller’s Onboard OLED Screen. Rather than requiring players to connect to a PC whenever they want to change settings, the display provides direct access to customised profiles and controller configuration.
The OLED menu can also be used to manage the controller’s remappable functions, including its rear buttons.
SteelSeries GG Provides Further Customisation
PC players can take the customisation further through the SteelSeries GG Software Suite.
The software allows users to fine-tune the controller’s buttons, triggers and profiles, while also providing control over individual rumble intensity across the controller’s four motors.
Additional options include function remapping, custom GG and Sonar integrations, and power management settings.
Designed for Grip and Control
SteelSeries has also focused on the physical design of the Aeon Pro. The controller features a Wrap-Around Textured Grip intended to keep the player’s hands securely positioned during longer gaming sessions and provide greater control during fast movements.
Combined with the Hall Effect thumbsticks, mechanical switches, adjustable thumbsticks and rear buttons, SteelSeries is positioning the Aeon Pro as a controller aimed at players who want extensive control over how their hardware feels and responds.

The SteelSeries Aeon Pro Controller is available in Black and White and launches worldwide on September 8, 2026.
