Throughout the ongoing development, the team working on Pearl Abyss’ battle royale game Shadow Arena has changed many of the game’s core gameplay mechanics, ruleset and now focuses on strategic player choice and competitive co-op teamplay. As part of this shift in vision, all of Shadow Arena’s heroes are being completely reworked and rebalanced.
This week will see the re-introduction of two fan-favourite heroes Sura and Bari. Sura is a damage dealer who is both dextrous and aggressive. He has the ability to quickly change his stance and enable four deadly skills. He utilizes precise and ruthless skills to approach enemies and players who enjoy melee fights will love him. His sheer attack strength is counterbalanced by his apparent weak defensive capabilities.
Bari is a support hero who has a loyal mount-esque companion, Heilang. Heliang is following her master anywhere, can sniff out hidden heroes and attacks whoever Bari targets. Bari can give a wide range of buffs to her teammates including an increase in attack and movement speed.
Earlier in February, three other heroes were added, including Badal, Igrid and Lahn. Badal the Golden is a damage dealer who specializes in combo attacks. He can apply an attack buff to himself by using his special skills, which makes him a deadly force indeed. He has limited attack range and therefore relies mostly on sheer speed to quickly bridge the gap between himself and his target.
Igrid is a true brawler with strong combat skills and uses heavy defensive techniques when wielding her battle axe and shield. However, as her attack speed is slow, it is critical for her to time her actions carefully and use her skills at exactly the right time. Her main skill is Shield of Revenge and with it she can hold her shield to block attacks and increase the defense points of her allies. She also uses the power of lightning to decrease the attack points of her enemies.
Lahn uses her Crescent Pendulum to inflict a great amount of damage and is capable of changing the tide of battles as she can instantly pull in enemies from afar through her “Hell Flower” skill. With “Nimbus Stride” she can run in the air for a certain amount of time. The crux of this skill is that it takes time to build it up when used and this creates a momentary weak point, so the skill must be carefully used with the right timing.
