SEGA has officially announced that players will soon get hands-on with Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, thanks to a free demo rollout starting this January. Developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the demo offers an early taste of both games included in the upcoming two-in-one action-adventure release.
PC players can jump into the demo first, with downloads going live on Steam from 3PM GMT on January 21, 2026. Console players won’t have to wait much longer, as the demo lands on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and the Nintendo Switch 2 at 5AM GMT on January 22, 2026.
Two Games, One Demo
The free demo lets players experience content from both titles included in Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, giving a solid feel for how each game plays and what sets them apart.
In Yakuza Kiwami 3, players step back into the shoes of Kazuma Kiryu and explore Ryukyu, Okinawa. Combat allows you to dynamically switch between Kiryu’s brutal Dragon of Dojima: Kiwami style and the more weapon-focused Ryukyu style, making fights feel flexible and punchy.
Outside of combat, the demo also highlights the series’ signature side content, including karaoke, sub-stories, outfit customisation and other immersive distractions that fans have come to expect.
Dark Ties Shines the Spotlight on Yoshitaka Mine
Dark Ties offers a slice of an all-new story focused on Yoshitaka Mine. Players will explore Kamurocho once again, dive into a variety of side experiences, and get hands-on with Mine’s unique shoot-boxing combat style, delivering fast, stylish takedowns that feel distinct from Kiryu’s brawling.
This portion of the demo is designed to showcase how Dark Ties stands on its own while still fitting naturally into the wider Yakuza universe.
Launch Details
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties launches on February 12, 2026, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.
