Styx Blades of Greed | Previously on Styx – Story Trailer
A New Hunt Begins After the Fall of Korrangar
Styx: Blades of Greed picks up shortly after the events of the second game. Following the destruction of High Priestess Lyssril’s Amber factory, Styx escapes the Dark Elf city of Korrangar and takes to the skies aboard a zeppelin with a makeshift crew.
His new obsession is Quartz — a powerful, volatile resource emerging as tensions escalate between humans, elves, and orcs. With the world teetering on the edge of war, Quartz has become the most coveted substance on the continent.
Relentlessly hunted by the Inquisition, a ruthless human faction intent on eradicating other races, Styx must secure the Quartz before it falls into their hands, whatever the cost.
A Journey Across a War-Torn Continent
The adventure unfolds across the continent of Iserian, featuring vast, vertical environments rooted in a richly detailed medieval fantasy world.
Key locations include:
- Akenash – Floating ruins once at the heart of the World Tree, now overrun by goblins and amber-corrupted elves
- The Wall – The immense fortress of the Human Empire, defended by elite soldiers and inquisitors
- The Turquoise Dawn – A dense jungle ravaged by war between humans and orcs, filled with hostile flora and deadly creatures
Each area presents unique threats, vertical traversal challenges, and stealth opportunities, reinforcing the series’ focus on player choice and environmental mastery.
Allies, Outcasts, and Deeper Customisation
Along the way, Styx is joined by a band of outcasts, including Helledryn, Djarak, and Wren. Completing their quests rewards players with upgrades that enhance Styx’s abilities, tools, and stealth skills.
These upgrades unlock new infiltration options and support a wide range of playstyles, allowing players to approach objectives with creativity, patience, or ruthless efficiency.
Setting the Stage for a Larger Conflict
This new chapter lays the foundations for the Great War and marks the rise of the Black Hand, the mercenary group whose actions later take centre stage in Of Orcs and Men, the first game set in this universe.
A Return to Stealth-First Design
Styx: Blades of Greed is the third entry in the series, which has already captivated more than two million players worldwide. Developed by French studio Cyanide, the game builds on the foundations of its predecessors while placing even greater emphasis on freedom, vertical exploration, and creative problem-solving.
Players once again step into the role of Styx, a sharp-witted goblin and master of stealth, using expanded powers and new tools such as a grappling hook and glider to navigate towering environments from the shadows.
Whether you’re meeting Styx for the first time or returning to the series’ iconic anti-hero, Blades of Greed promises a darker, more ambitious chapter in his story.
