Rocket Panda Games, Shatter Flask Games and acttil, inc. have revealed the voice cast behind Cresata, their upcoming side-scrolling action platformer, giving us our first look at the actors bringing its central characters to life.
The announcement was made during the team’s Rocket Panda Panel at Anime Expo 2026, where Ben Starr and Aleks Le were confirmed as two of the game’s leading voices.
Starr, known for his work in Final Fantasy XVI and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, voices Leo Vennghast, the Prime Reclaimer and main antagonist. Le, whose credits include Solo Leveling, Street Fighter 6 and Demon Slayer, takes on the role of protagonist Phaedon Ourasonis.

The voice cast announcement comes alongside a new behind-the-scenes video recorded during Anime Expo, showing the early stages of bringing Cresata’s characters to life.
There’s even a rather fun twist to the recording session, with the Anime Expo audience getting involved and providing sound effects as part of the voice recording process.
It’s a small detail, but one that gives the video a much more entertaining feel than your usual cast announcement.
A Fast-Paced Platformer Built Around the Crescent Claw
Cresata is taking inspiration from some seriously well-regarded action platformers, including Strider and Castlevania, while also looking towards modern titles such as Celeste.
Players take control of Phaedon and his Crescent Claw, a weapon that can be used to attack in any direction while also providing a grappling mechanic for navigating the game’s environments.
The combination of combat and traversal appears to be a major part of the experience, with players able to tether themselves through the game’s various environments while dealing with enemies and bosses.
The developers are also promising a selection of uniquely themed biomes, powerful Cresata Arts and some challenging boss encounters for players willing to put their skills to the test.
An Anime-Inspired World
While the gameplay draws heavily from classic action platformers, Cresata is giving itself a more distinctive visual identity through anime-inspired 2D character designs.
The result is a mixture of pixel-crushed environments, fast combat and stylised character artwork that gives the game a distinctly modern retro feel.
And beneath all of that is a fairly straightforward motivation: revenge. Phaedon’s journey will take him across the game’s different environments as he pursues those responsible, with the developers promising a story built around his relentless quest.
Cresata Is Coming in 2026
Cresata is currently scheduled to launch on PC and consoles in 2026.
The team is also preparing to launch a Kickstarter campaign, with the campaign set to go live soon. Players can already wishlist the game on Steam ahead of its release.
There’s certainly plenty of competition in the modern retro platformer space, but Cresata has an interesting combination of ingredients. The grappling-focused traversal, directional combat and anime-inspired presentation could help it stand out if the developers can get the feel of its movement and combat just right.
With Ben Starr and Aleks Le now attached to the project, the voice cast is certainly off to a strong start. Now we’ll have to see whether Cresata can back that up with the gameplay.
