The world’s first eSports Tutoring service has launched, giving kids the chance to receive professional coaching in competitive games like Fifa and Fortnite. The service comes after the introduction of lucrative online gaming tournaments, which saw a teenager win $3 million in the Fortnite World Cup this year. The eSports Tutoring service is set to cost £40 an hour, and will involve experienced/pro gamers helping their students improve their general skills, reaction times and in-game tactics.
The UK’s leading online tutoring platform has launched the world’s first eSports Tutoring service, giving gaming enthusiasts the chance to hire a professional gaming tutor to improve their performance.
The online tutoring platform behind the scheme, Tutor House, launched the service to encourage game-savvy children into a career within eSports and professional gaming. The site is now recruiting for eSports Tutors to provide the service, and says selected pros can expect to earn upwards of £40 an hour teaching students how to improve their general skills, reaction times and in-game tactics.

Hopeful eSports Tutors will need to go through an approval process which will include providing evidence of their level within their chosen game(s), as well as a valid form of ID, and an up to date enhanced DBS certificate. Any eSports Tutors who are approved by Tutor House will be expected to deliver one-on-one tutoring for their chosen game, either in person or virtually.
In 2018 there were 380 million global eSports viewers, and by 2021 it is estimated that this number will grow to 557 million*. When it comes to prizes, anyone that finishes first in the FIFA eWorld Cup can expect to earn $250,000, whilst second place takes home $100,000. When it comes to Battle Royale games, the most recent winner of the Fortnite World Cup took home $3,000,000, despite being just 16-years-old.
Tutor House says it has launched the service in recognition of a genuine demand for eSports coaching and to give students the opportunity to excel in any subject or sport they choose. Krasi who is a professional gamer and runs a Fifa tutorial YouTube account has 441,000 subscribers and received 171,000 views within a week on a ‘Fifa 20 most effective skills video’ he uploaded. Additionally a Fortnite beginner’s guide tutorial has over 2 million views on YouTube.
Tutor House is the UK’s leading tutoring platform, offering private home tuition for all Primary, GCSE, A-Level & University subjects. The company’s mission is to change the way students and parents find trusted and qualified tutors, to make tutoring affordable for all and allow every single student to benefit from individual tutoring, group retake courses and educational support, no matter their level or ability.
Alex Dyer, founder of Tutor House, said,
“At Tutor House our goal is to give all students, whatever their ability, the best chance to pursue whichever career they feel is for them. Whether this be medicine, law or eSports, we want to make sure that everyone has the necessary tools and education to help them succeed.
“When it comes to eSports, the market has skyrocketed in recent years, with champions around the world sometimes earning millions, which we saw recently in the Fortnite World Cup. Professional gaming is becoming a more accepted career path, and we want to make sure that students have the support and guidance to successfully pursue any career path they choose.”
