After PlayStation announced their developers’ most anticipated games of 2021, and many major platforms are teasing release dates, fans are left excitedly discussing their favourite games due for release in 2021. But which game is most anticipated by the players themselves?
Interested in gaming trends, researchers at ManySpins.com analysed more than 395,000 gaming comments on reddit since January 1st, 2021, and calculated the number of comments mentioning the games due to be released this year.

ManySpins.com can reveal that Halo Infinite is the game that players are most excited for, with 9,982 comments mentioning the game since January 2021. Unfortunately, these eager fans will be left waiting a little while longer as the game is not expected to be released until this Autumn.
The second most anticipated game by fans is God of War: Ragnarok. After being mentioned in 8,124 comments this year so far, it’s clear that gamers are itching for a release date. Once again, gamers are left in limbo as the official release date hasn’t yet been announced; it’s safe to assume this won’t be until the second half of 2021.
New Pokémon Snap follows in third place, as the game has been spoken about in 4,952 different Reddit comments since 2021 began. Unlike other highly anticipated games, fans of Pokémon are in luck as the game is set to release on the 30th of April!
In fourth and fifth places are Mass Effect: Legendary Edition and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, with 3,695 and 1,971 comments made conversing about these games respectively.

Methodology:
- Firstly, ManySpins.com collated a list of games being released in 2021, and those which are highly anticipated by experts (such as PlayStation and GamesRadar)
- They then analysed all comments made between 01/01/2021 and 15/02/2021 on the r/gaming subreddit (29 million members). The comments were then filtered out to discover which game had been commented the most with fans interested in its release.
