With anticipation for Grand Theft Auto VI reaching fever pitch ahead of its November launch, cybersecurity experts are warning gamers to be on high alert for a growing wave of scams targeting eager fans.
According to researchers at ChicksX, scammers are already exploiting the enormous hype surrounding Rockstar Games’ upcoming blockbuster by creating fake early access offers, fraudulent beta downloads, cryptocurrency payment schemes, and malicious software disguised as game files.
As excitement continues to build, experts are urging players to remain cautious and only trust information released through official Rockstar channels.
There Is No GTA 6 Beta or Early Access Program
One of the most common scams currently circulating involves fake claims that players can gain early access to Grand Theft Auto VI through beta tests, private servers, or exclusive download links.
Experts stress that Rockstar Games has not announced any public beta, demo, or early access programme for the game.
Any website, social media post, email, or advertisement claiming to offer access to a GTA 6 beta should be treated as fraudulent.
Many of these scams use professional-looking artwork, AI-generated promotional material, and branding inspired by Vice City to appear legitimate. Their goal is simple: convince players to click links, download files, or hand over personal information.
Beware of Cryptocurrency Payment Requests
Another growing trend involves websites claiming to offer leaked builds or early copies of GTA 6 in exchange for cryptocurrency payments.
These scams often promise exclusive access unavailable anywhere else and attempt to create urgency by suggesting only a limited number of downloads are available.
The reality is much simpler: no public version of the game exists outside Rockstar’s internal development environment.
Unlike traditional payment methods, cryptocurrency transactions cannot usually be reversed, meaning victims have little chance of recovering their money once a payment has been made.

With GTA 6 expected to become one of the biggest game launches in history, cybercriminals are likely to continue targeting excited fans right up until release. Staying cautious and relying solely on official information remains the best defence against becoming the next victim.
