Battle Axe from Numskull Games and Bitmap Bureau is now available on all platforms, with digital versions downloadable via the Nintendo Switch eShop, PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store (Xbox One and PC), Steam PC and Linux for £24.99 / €27.99.
Physical versions of the highly anticipated fantasy game will be available on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 with standard box editions costing £34.99 / €34.99. Collectors will also have an opportunity to grab special editions, including six limited edition pin badges, for £44.99 / €44.99.
Having nearly doubled its £40,000 target, Battle Axe is the result of a successful Kickstarter campaign and the brainchild of Henk Nieborg: a renowned pixel artist and developer with over thirty years in the biz. An homage to classic arcade titles like Gauntlet and Golden Axe, Battle Axe is a 16-bit hack-n-slash adventure featuring improved controls, gameplay and pixel art that can be played in either solo or local co-op mode. It even features a superb soundtrack by legendary video game composer Manami Matsumae, who has previously composed for classics like Mega Man, Final Fight, Area 88, Mercs, Magic Sword, Shovel Knight, and more.
