NVIDIA GeForce NOW is now officially supported on Firefox for Windows, allowing players to stream more than 2,000 PC games directly through Mozilla’s browser without needing to download games, install additional software or upgrade their existing hardware.
The launch follows months of collaboration between Mozilla and NVIDIA, with the two companies working to deliver the performance GeForce NOW users expect directly through Firefox.
GeForce NOW Comes to Firefox
Firefox users can now access GeForce NOW directly from their browser and stream supported PC games from a range of digital storefronts.
Supported libraries include Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, Xbox Game Pass and Ubisoft Connect, giving players access to their existing game libraries where supported rather than requiring them to download each title locally.
For players with older or less powerful PCs, cloud gaming can also provide a way to play demanding games without investing in a new graphics card or complete system upgrade.
Up to 1440p and 120 FPS
Players subscribed to GeForce NOW Ultimate can take advantage of NVIDIA’s RTX-powered cloud gaming technology through Firefox, with streaming available at up to 1440p resolution and 120 FPS.
This allows compatible games to be rendered on NVIDIA’s cloud hardware before being streamed directly to the player’s Windows PC through Firefox.
Firefox Split View Makes Multitasking Easier
One of the advantages of using GeForce NOW through Firefox is access to the browser’s own features while gaming.
Firefox Split View makes it possible to keep other content visible alongside a game. Players could, for example, keep Discord, a walkthrough or Reddit open alongside their game without constantly switching between windows.
This could be particularly useful for games that require guides, build information or community resources while playing.
A Customisable Browser for Gamers
Firefox also gives players plenty of options for customising their browsing experience, including themes, colours and tab settings.
NVIDIA says this allows Firefox to become an extension of each player’s existing gaming setup rather than simply acting as a way to access GeForce NOW.
How to Use GeForce NOW on Firefox
Getting started is straightforward. Firefox users simply need to ensure their browser is updated to the latest version before heading to the GeForce NOW website.
Once there, players can sign into their NVIDIA account and access supported games available through their connected storefronts and subscriptions.
No traditional game installation is required, as the games are streamed from NVIDIA’s cloud infrastructure.
GeForce NOW Is Now Available on Firefox
The addition of Firefox gives GeForce NOW players another way to access NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service, particularly for those who prefer Mozilla’s browser or want to take advantage of features such as Split View while playing.
With more than 2,000 supported PC games and access to multiple major PC game stores, Firefox users now have another option for playing their existing libraries without relying entirely on local hardware.
