TwitchCon, the bi-annual convention for Twitch and its dedicated community is back on the West Coast of America at the San Diego Convention Centre for the fifth consecutive year. TwitchCon is a place for the community to meet some of their favourite streamers, play the world’s biggest games, watch esports of the highest level, get their hands on new merch and tonnes more.
Alongside all of the games-related action, cosplay contests, Twitch Rivals esports showdowns and meet & greets; TwitchCon will feature performances from some of the world’s highest profile musical acts, including the legendary Blink-182, Hometown Road rapper Lil Nas X, Madeon, Au/Ra, Y2K and more.
Further to all of this, it wouldn’t be TwitchCon if there weren’t some significant announcements. This year will be no different, with Twitch’s very own streaming app, Twitch Studio launching and a load of new community-focused updates for Twitch users new and old.
- Twitch Studio – Twitch will be launching its very own streaming app for creators, complete with a guided stream setup, easy-to-use templates for stream customisation and built-in activity feed, chat and alerts. The open beta for all will be rolling out in October
- Creator Dashboard – An all-new dashboard to completely revamp the streamer experience that puts the tools and functionalities streamers rely on the most front and centre
- Channel Page – As part of Twitch’s visual identity revamp, the channel page has been redesigned to make it more user-friendly for new viewers and give streamers more ways to express themselves
- Channel Points – A customisable points program that allows affiliates and partners to reward loyal community members with perks
