Grinding Gear Games has released the first major update of 2025 for Path of Exile 2, bringing a host of new features, improvements, and bug fixes. The 0.1.1 patch is packed with changes aimed at enhancing the endgame experience, making the game more accessible, and addressing player feedback.
Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.1.1 Big Changes
Endgame Changes
The update introduces four new tower maps: Alpine Ridge, Sinking Spire, Bluff, and Mesa. These new maps are designed to add variety and excitement to the endgame content. Additionally, the existing Lost Towers map has been reworked to make it less monotonous.
One of the most significant changes is the addition of up to six respawn attempts for the Arbiter of Ash boss fight. This change aims to reduce frustration and give players more opportunities to defeat this challenging boss. Respawns can only be triggered by the person who put in the keys, and everyone in the party will be respawned simultaneously.
General Improvements
The patch also focuses on improving the overall gameplay experience. Monster density has been increased in maps, and visual clutter has been reduced to improve the visibility of skills and effects. Load times for the world map and Atlas Panel have been improved, making navigation smoother.
Players can now overwrite socketed runes with new ones, making it easier to adapt to new items and adjust resistances. Many low-level unique items have been buffed to make them feel more powerful at lower levels. Additionally, armour has been buffed by 15% to provide better protection.
Bug Fixes
The patch addresses several common issues, including client crashes and music bugs. Localization issues have also been fixed to improve the game’s accessibility for players from different regions.
Future Updates
While the 0.1.1 patch brings many exciting changes, Grinding Gear Games has hinted at more updates to come. One of the most-requested features, a specialized stash tab for endgame Waystones, is still in the works and will be introduced as soon as it’s ready.
