Razer has announced the Razer Clio X, a new wireless speaker head cushion designed to bring rear-channel surround sound to virtually any high-back gaming chair. The new audio accessory combines immersive sound with wireless connectivity, giving gamers another way to enhance their setup without having to wear a headset.
The Razer Clio X makes its debut at PAX West 2026, taking place from September 4 to September 7. It combines THX Spatial Audio with Razer HyperSpeed 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity to deliver low-latency rear audio for gaming, movies and music.
Rather than simply acting as another desktop speaker, the Clio X is designed to sit directly behind the user’s head, effectively turning a compatible gaming chair into part of the audio setup.
Razer Clio X Delivers Rear-Channel Audio
At the heart of the Razer Clio X is an integrated near-field speaker design featuring dual 38mm full-range drivers and 55mm passive radiators. The speakers are angled directly towards the listener’s ears, helping deliver focused audio from behind the user.
The system is powered by THX Spatial Audio, with acoustic widening modes designed to create a broader and more realistic soundstage. This gives players greater depth and spatial awareness while gaming, while also making the Clio X suitable for watching movies or listening to music.
One of the major advantages is that the system provides this additional spatial audio without requiring the user to wear anything on their head.
Wireless Audio Without the Cable Clutter
The Razer Clio X uses Razer HyperSpeed 2.4 GHz wireless technology to provide ultra-low-latency wireless audio, freeing users from having to run an audio cable between their gaming chair and PC or console.
The speaker cushion can be powered by any USB-C PD 2.0 power bank, although a power bank is not included with the device. Razer claims up to 40 hours of wireless use, with actual battery life depending on the capacity of the connected power bank and how the device is used.
Razer has also integrated a USB Type-C cable into the rear cushion pouch. The cable can be stored neatly inside the cushion when it is not required, helping keep the gaming setup clean and free from unnecessary cable clutter.
Designed to Fit Most High-Back Gaming Chairs
The Razer Clio X has been designed with broad compatibility in mind. Its plush foam head cushion features an adjustable 30–65 cm nylon strap, allowing it to be attached to most high-back gaming and office chairs.
This makes the Clio X a potentially versatile addition to existing gaming setups, particularly for users who want a more immersive audio experience without replacing their existing gaming chair.
Use the Razer Clio X as a Standalone Speaker or Rear Surround Channel
The Razer Clio X can be used in several different ways depending on the user’s setup.
It can operate as a standalone primary speaker for headset-free gaming, movies and music. Alternatively, users can pair the Clio X with an existing soundbar or 2.0/2.1 speaker system using Surround Mode.
In this configuration, the Clio X acts as a rear audio channel, with THX Spatial Audio helping create a more immersive surround sound experience.
