Leap Studio, the developer behind Realm of Ink, has launched Realm of Taiwu into Early Access on PC in collaboration with ConchShip Games, known for The Scroll of Taiwu. The dark fantasy action roguelite combines fast-paced survivors-like combat, crafting, online co-op and striking ink-wash artwork inspired by Chinese tales of the strange.
Set in a corrupted world where the gods have fallen silent and monstrous beings known as Xiangshu roam the land, players must explore shattered landscapes in search of hope. Early Access begins with two locations: Bloodjade Abyss, where crimson ore veins pulse like arteries, and Tome Mound, a mysterious place where glyphs crawl across the ground.
Both environments feature distinctive ink-wash visuals, with secrets and stories waiting to be uncovered throughout the world.
Survivors-Like Combat With Six Playable Characters
Realm of Taiwu launches into Early Access with six playable characters and nearly 30 skill sets, giving players plenty of options for creating their preferred combat builds. Melee, ranged and status-based attacks offer different approaches to battles, with further characters and abilities planned during development.
Players can also team up in real-time online co-op with up to four people. Different builds can complement one another during combat, while playful items found during runs can help allies or cause unexpected trouble. Pranks and accidental chaos are part of the experience, meaning co-op sessions may not always go according to plan.
Craft Weapons and Build a Home
Equipment plays a major role in surviving the dangers of Realm of Taiwu. Players can collect weapons, dismantle unwanted gear and reforge their preferred equipment into stronger versions tailored to their combat style. This crafting system allows players to refine their builds as they progress.
There is more to the journey than fighting, however. Rescuing Wanqu Folk allows them to develop the Conch-Vessel into a prosperous home, providing a beacon of hope in the ruined world. Players can also rescue and raise Spirit Attendants, each bringing their own charm to the adventure.
Leap Studio Welcomes Players to Early Access
