New research from Ambr Eyewear has analysed Kickstarter data to reveal the products and industries which have seen the biggest success through crowdfunding and Video Games rank 3rd.
Double Fine Adventure is the most-backed video game on Kickstarter, with 87,142 backers raising $3.3 million in pledges.
Meanwhile, Shenmue 3 received the highest funding from Kickstarter, raising $6.33 million from 69,320 pledges.

Video Games are the third most backed sector on Kickstarter, following tabletop games and product design. Out of the top 200 projects, 24 were video games, including Torment: Tides of Numenera, Pillars of Eternity and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Video Game projects received a total of $72 million in pledges from over 1 million backers.

Video Games are also one of the most common product sectors turning to Kickstarter for funding, ranking 4th with a total of 14,906 projects (3.99%) competing for pledges.
