The Tecevo S15 portable speaker, a sturdy little ball of sound, made by TECEVO themselves this Bluetooth enabled speaker has been with me for almost 2 weeks now and I’ve tested both its quality, distance of Bluetooth and durability so now it is time to note it all down for you to decide if it’s worth a purchase.
Design
While not the most stylish of speakers the S15 is quite small and durable, able to fit almost anywhere including your own pockets. It comes with a rubber strap if you want to hook it on a wall, or somewhere else to keep it stationary, or attach it to yourself as you walk about to bring them music with you.
There are 4 buttons on the speaker itself, nicely hidden away on the side, for volume, power on/off and answering phone calls if you connect it to your smartphone. These are easy to use, if a bit finicky as the start to learn, they don’t get in the way and are designed in a way that makes them blend into the speaker. There are also 2 inputs for the power charger and speaker so you can connect to USB to charge or connect to your laptop or music player to play from a playlist.
Quality
The sound quality of music from the S15 is top notch, better then both my laptop and phone that would normally play them, with higher volume to boot. It isn’t as good as high quality headsets but that can be overlooked when this speaker is meant to broadcast to more than just 1 person. The range on the Bluetooth is more than enough, to test I could have my phone connected to the speaker from my top floor to my garage and still have clear music playback. Along with the volume and Bluetooth the battery is also commendable, with around 9 hours of use and still going until I need to recharge it.
After testing this durability of the speaker I can say it is one hardy piece of hardware. Dropping, hitting and general wear and tear don’t seem to affect the S15, with no marks on the surface to see or decrease in quality. The feel of the speaker is quite clunky, but with a smoot material it is rather comfortable to just hold in your hand. Holding the speaker you can tell how durable it is, from the thick outer casing to the weight it has.
Overall Thoughts and Feelings
While I got the green colour, which reminds me too much of army camouflage, there is a range of colours and designs to choose from. The colour really impacts the aesthetic of this device as the difference from green to yellow for example is rather big and can be more appealing. The overall look of the S15 isn’t much to talk about, a speaker doesn’t really need to be good-looking but it helps to entice buyers.
Overall I give the Tecevo S15 a 5/5, 10 hour long battery, long Bluetooth range, and durability that will secure its lifespan all add to this well-made speaker. It can be used for almost any type of activity, whether you need it to be stationary to broadcast to an audience, or on the go for hiking and around otherwise hazardous conditions of water at the beach.
