Wreckfest 2 has received its latest major content drop with Update 8, introducing the game’s first player progression system alongside new races, cars, and a fresh wave of chaos-focused features.
This update marks the beginning of a long-term progression system that will continue evolving throughout Early Access, giving players a structured way to earn experience through racing, crashing, and pure in-game chaos.

New Player Progression System
The new progression system lets players earn experience through three core playstyles: racing, crashing, and embracing total madness on the track.
Players are free to focus on their preferred approach, whether that’s clean racing, aggressive destruction, or a mix of both. This system is the foundation for future progression updates planned during Early Access.
New Races and Chaos Mode
Community feedback has also led to the addition of more suicide and waypoint races, expanding the game’s chaotic race formats.
A new Random Waypoint Mode has also been introduced, exclusively for multiplayer. In this mode, waypoint locations change unpredictably, even for players who know the track layout inside out.
Developers have confirmed AI support is still in progress, meaning the mode is currently limited to multiplayer gameplay.
New Cars, Features, and Improvements
Update #8 also adds two new cars, alongside seven new waypoint and suicide race events.
Other additions include an Easy Tuning Mode, improved performance, and refinements to physics and damage systems for more realistic crashes and vehicle behaviour.
Shareable Paint Jobs
Players can now share custom paint jobs with others, although the feature currently requires manual file exchange. Developers have confirmed this is an early version of a system that will be improved in future updates.
