Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, NetherRealm Studios, and Intersport announce further details for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11 Pro Kompetition 2019/2020, the inaugural season of the global esports program featuring the latest installment of the iconic Mortal KombatΒ franchise.
TheΒ Interkontinental KombatΒ series will be run by Intersport and kicks off in June 2019, offering players of all ranks a chance to compete in four online tournaments across Europe, Middle East and Australia, including the following events:
- August β EU East
- August β Middle East
- September β Australia
- September β EU West
In addition, there will be multiple offline tournaments offering a prize pool bonus of $1,000 at each stop. The confirmed local offline events include:
- 15th-16thΒ June βΒ Fighting Games ChallengeΒ (ΕΓ³dΕΊ, Poland)
- 20th-21stΒ July βΒ Versus FightingΒ (Birmingham, UK)
- 27th-29thΒ September βΒ U.F.A.Β (Paris, France)
- 3rd-6thΒ October βΒ IgroMirΒ (Moscow, Russia)
Qualifiers from these events will then earn themselves a seat at the international finals taking place atΒ DreamHack WinterΒ in JΓΆnkΓΆping, Sweden from 29thΒ Nov. through 1stΒ Dec. Not only is a prize pool of $10,000 up for grabs, but theΒ Interkontinental KombatΒ winner will move forward to compete in theΒ Mortal KombatΒ 11 Pro KompetitionΒ championship finale,Β Final Kombat, which is scheduled for Q1 of 2020 in Chicago, Ill. (US).Β Final KombatΒ will be livestreamed atΒ Twitch.tv/NetherRealm, as will allΒ Mortal KombatΒ 11 Pro KompetitionΒ regular season tournaments.
